If I wanted to tow more than 2k I would have a Ranger in my garage. I added the hitch for future use and because a truck without one isn't really a truck.

People vastly overestimate how much AWD is used. It's primary function is when the other two tires are stuck. An average user encounters those situations 1-2% of the time.

Nope I'm good, have a great set of snow tires and experienced no issues. I'll wait till the PHEV comes out in AWD and maybe switch out then. But these are in such high demand theres no concern about losing any sleep
this is something that peaks my interest. Phev I’d be a player to trade in my hybrid xlt. Prefer it was a 4k awd phev.

I think the hybrid's combined 43mpg is a reason a PHEV isn't on a future blueprint. A plug in Escape starts at 40K. The average fuel cost is 950. Fuel on an Active is 1800. The real savings with the escape is trips less than 37 miles. Otherwise you have to keep the vehicle for a long time for the extra technology to start paying dividends on the upfront investment.

No regrets. Here, we see maybe 4 inches of white stuff maybe every 4 years. Hard to justify when I can just stay home for a day being retired. At one point I thought I wanted it. If I really wanted a 4WD/AWD for those few times I could use it, a cheap beater would serve the purpose better at lower cost and fewer risks of damaging the Maverick by using it in those conditions. People around here get themselves in trouble in winter weather thinking the AWD makes them invincible. They are the real reason I stay home when it snows as I and my FWD hybrid can otherwise handle what we normally get. (I had the first seven years of driving experience in the Winters of the North.)

Nope.

Never needed AWD in Kansas winters - if we get snow dumped on us barely anything is open anyway to attempt to get to if streets aren't cleared yet. If they barely are FWD is fine. Besides AWD drivers barely have skills to use properly around here - they think AWD means magical braking.
Never have or plan a need for towing beyond what I got.

I think plenty of places FWD is all that is desired. So the market didn't fall out from under me.
Besides - this wasn't an investment in future sale but long-term use, expected the normal depreciation immediately - if better than that in case of insurance totaling, great.

No need for AWD at the price they are asking.

Only regret will be when axles go out and hopefully will be in warranty. I think there is a manufacturer axle defect.
I am getting rid of my 2024 hybrid ..vibrates day 1

Not really. My 2019 F150 Lariat had 4A which all the XLT owners wanted to add because it wasn't available on that model. I have a long driveway and thought it might be fun to have better traction in the snow. Didn't make much difference in reality.
I really don't like the restyle (sorry) and would only be interested in a plug-in model (having owned a Volt for 11 years convinced me that this works just fine for my situation). But again, the new front end will probably cause the neighborhood dogs to start barking.

No regrets. Doesn't snow enough around here anymore to need AWD. If on the rare occasion it might I can stay home or drive my AWD car.
Whether the value of the FWD only goes down may depend on the gas mileage difference between the 2. People have gotten very happy about the low fuel cost. Hard to go back to higher cost.

No regrets at all. It was purchased as a summer only traveling vehicle. I have an old 4X4 Ranger and Subaru Forester for winter. We all used to have "winter beaters" around here, and I have a couple of really good ones. Just can't see beating up a new vehicle if you don't have to.

I already sold my 23 Hybrid because I need a truck with AWD and 4k towing package to replace my F150. I need a car that does great in the snow and can also tow my small camper, so I saw the writing on the wall that I needed to sell my Maverick to get an AWD. I will be placing an order tomorrow as soon as the order banks open up.

Those that own Hybrids - will we see the "value" drop on the FWD version because people will prefer the AWD version? Do you regret buying your FWD hybrid and not waiting for the AWD that we knew was coming at some point?
I am excited about the upcoming Maverick and the technology/options that are being added. An AWD Maverick Hybrid would have been nice but not necessary for me. I love the look of the 22-24s and am a big fan of Area 51. I wouldn't swap to the 25+ and drop those two for AWD.

Personally, I'm not super concerned about resale value. I plan on keeping my Maverick for as long as I can. I'm sure that the resale will drop because the new model is out, but that would have happened regardless of an AWD hybrid or not.
