You need to replace the standard battery that the Mav shipped with. Put in a AGM battery. Do a search. There are all kinds of topics on this!

I must have gotten lucky for once in my life. 23' XL Hybrid one year old 15K miles just got back from Hawaii, parked for 9 days. No message (never had one) and started just fine. I didn't even start it remotely in the middle.

Probably have problems now after bragging.

I really don't know how much energy it takes to cold-start the 2.5 hybrid vs the 2.0 ecoboost, and the battery monitor strategy is very different between the 2 vehicles since the hybrid charges 12V only from the high voltage hybrid system (there's no alternator).
Just had key ON so it had some HVB charging happening, normally 12.1 is found.
Battery check function in scanner gave this report on startup function.
Start routine - 1225 ms
Engine off voltage - 12.46 V
Min V during start - 9.84
Max V after return - 12.71
2.62 V drop

I'll mention I've tried this a few times, and the drop was low enough it didn't log it because it didn't think a successful start. I don't know where that cutoff is.
So a drop of 2.6V or lower it appears.

I vaguely remember someone posting about changing a setting in Forscan so the battery will fully charge instead of only charging to 80-90 %.

usually up to 95% for the change. Still not good to overcharge since in case the SOC is wrong (and that has much inaccuracy to it except after sitting for hours) you easily could be overcharging.

That's up from what seems to be 65%, allowed to go down to 50%.
Hence the issues with sulfation killing them.

the strategy is 80% state of charge because that gives the best long term battery life. 100% is pretty hard on batteries.

I have a 2022 annd have the same issue. Periodically i reset the BMS.
Deep sleep mo

Reset the BMS, with ignition on (accsesory and red battery symboly shows), then flash high beams 5 times and then press brake 3 times , battery light will flash ( be patient, it takes a moment) and then stop when complete.
I found this on an old thread on this site.

Bad idea unless you really charged up the battery.
Manual says to be done after new battery installed, for a reason.

You are telling the system - here's a new battery, make a new baseline.
But it's not actually.

Since it thinks this is full charge now - sure the prevention measures to keep battery high enough to start will be stopped for awhile - except it really isn't that high.
You are just chasing a dying battery down faster to get around the failsafes to keep the charge up.

Good afternoon

I recently got a 2024 Maverick Lariat Edition about 8 months ago.

For the past month or so anytime I drive to work in the morning I soon get the message:
Vehicle in Battery Saver mode and I need to drive it to recharge the battery to add remove features...
So I drive it... park it at home, no issues, next day I drive to work... same thing. Battery saver mode again.. everyday.. without fail.

This is getting really annoying what is causing this to go into Battery Saver Mode? I am not leaving on the lights I double checked everything.. What is going on here?

I just want things to work.. correctly.. Especially now that the weather is starting to get cold.. I would like to be able to remote start my car to warm it up... and not deal with this BS BS... (Bull Sh!t Battery Saver). 8 months old battery shouldn't be having issues....
Do you leave doors unlocked? I had the same problem while car was in garage but unlocked, while checking charging with doors unlocked meter read 13.1 v with doors locked charged at 14.5 v and never had the battery saver mode issue again.

The 12v battery does not start the ICE, there is no traditional starter in the hybrid. The ICE of the Hybrid is started by one of the electric motors with power from the HV battery, so it's does not need as many CCA as the EB. My previous Hybrid (Toyota Camry) also had a smaller battery (not as small the Maverick) and never had issues in the 6 years I owned it, but of course it was a high quality Panasonic AGM deep cycle battery.

yes, I know. and the truck does not start with a dead 12v battery.

Resetting the BMS erases learned charge history/strategy, and makes it thoroughly sniff the battery behavior again. When used on a battery that's been in service for a while, it can help a bit. Similar to discharging a cell phone to zero and recharging to 100% on many phones recalibrates the "BMS".

I've done it once on the Mav, which seems to have improved the long term charge state by a few tenths, the BMS manages the battery.

"new" batteries are installed with a variety of charge states depending on their age, temp of transport and storage and of course the exact capacity, CCA, etc of the new battery (it may not be a factory equal replacement).

Note that the "battery learn procedure" requires that the truck needs to be locked and left undisturbed for at least 8 hours. I almost always lock my truck overnight just in case truck will learn something about the battery (new or not). When I put my noco g5 overnight I will lock the truck just in case the "battery learn procedure" will run and possibly see the battery charged or at least more charged if it's been over 10 hours and I do not need the truck, I will unplug noco g5 and plug it in which will restart the charge check and possibility restart the battery optimize routine. Truck still locked so maybe battery learn runs again seeing battery charged a little further. It may be that locking the truck turns off something maybe because it's an indication that you are not going to use truck for awhile. Also note that double pushing the lock will also turn off the courtesy lighting , the dash screen, the infotainment screen. Also it appears to turn of the communication with the fob, evidenced that clicking doesn't happen when fob is not moving around the truck. This must also reduce 12v battery drain.

Do a forum search, what you are experiencing is the norm, welcome to Maverick Hybrid life. Unless you drive 2 hours a day or more, this is just how it is. It started for me less than two months into ownership. Dealer test the battery "it's fine", yeah because they put it on a trickle charger. I can do that myself and skip the 4 hours at the dealership. 🤣

There is no real fix, it's a combination of draw from all the computers, poorly coded charging software, an undersized SLI battery(standard lead Acid battery), rather than a AGM deep cycle and other things.
I have gotten deep sleep 5-6 times in two years on my 22 hybrid. The dealer tested battery today (took several hours) and their machine said to replace the battery. Will be the same one and I asked if I could pay extra and get an AGM battery and was told not under warranty ☹
