I'm having the same problem. Mine has only worked a few days since I got the truck. I did not think it was a big deal so I would have them look at it when I did my first oil change. NO, "the guy" could not look at it for a month.

I posted this on the other thread:

I'm not sure I even like the feature but it should work. I waited a month for "the guy" at my dealer to look at it and he says it doesn't work because my battery was low. I don't put on a ton of miles because I am retired and most of the stuff I do is close to my house but I drive the truck 3-5 times per week. Service advisor says I need to put a battery tender on the truck- that I drive 3-5 times per week. I suspect I got a crappy battery or have a charging system or BMS problem. It starts fine and all other features work.

They "charged" the battery Monday to 87% and it worked Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday and today not working. If my battery discharges that much in one or two days it will probably fail to start this winter.

Waiting for the dealer to call me back. So far I am not at all impressed with Ford service and I plan to make a stink about it because that is just not right.

I noticed mine seems to have a mind of its own. If this is the worse "problem" I have with my truck I will count my blessings. :ROFLMAO: (y)
I remember the days when I was totally in control of my truck. My Maverick reminds me of my cat.

Crappy battery was my initial assessment as well, when started to monitor the condition of the battery; charging voltage is just fine. Even after charging the battery at home, the same issue returned after couple of days like yours. I got my Maverick this past February, so it's been 10 month.

Your replies to my and other postings with the same issue confirmed to me, that it is a crappy battery. Makes you wonder, just how many Maverick owners have the same issue? Maybe that number isn't that high, at least for the trucks with EB 2.0 engine.

I'll need to call my dealer and make an appointment to fix it. The chances are that they will just charge the battery, like they did with your truck. That means, I'll need to take the truck for service twice to get a new battery. Aaaargh!!!

I actually consider to get a new battery myself and install it. One of these batteries, "Group Size H6", would fit (URL shortened):

The question is, would it void the warranty? That's pretty much the only thing holding me back from replacing the battery myself...

Does yours not already have an AGM? Mine came with one from the factory. I tend to agree it sounds like a battery problem, though. I only drive mine 2-3 times a week due to working from home but I've yet to see this other than on days when Alabama returns to form and it is 90 degrees outside.

Yes, mine did come with AGM battery:

Ford Maverick Auto Shutoff/Start doesn't work... eb2.0 battery

The EverStart/ Diehard batteries have the Group Size of H6, with these dimensions (inches):
  • Height: 7.50
  • Length: 11.00
  • Width: 6.94
Both of them would be a suitable replacement in my view, but correct me if I am wrong....

I just need to know, if changing the OEM battery to EverStart would void the the warranty, or not.

Thx...

I would sure be surprised if replacing your battery would void the warranty!

It's basically impossible for them to void your warranty, as long as you're using the right type of battery that meets the specifications.

The replacement battery on my EcoBoost will no longer get above about 60-65%.

Auto start stop hasn't worked in almost a month for me.

Time for yet another visit and yet another battery. I'll have gone through more batteries in my Maverick in 17k miles than my old Accord had in its lifetime. Abysmal quality.

Have they replaced your batteries under warranty? I get they are a "wear" component but that seems like a design flaw (draining the battery that quickly) as opposed to a shitty component.

Yes, replaced under warranty. Not sure what the official stance from Ford is on wear items. Believe brake pads are like 12 months/1 year.

If it is a "design flaw", wouldn't more people have issues with start/stop, dead battery, etc.? Not to mention that replacing the battery yourself would not help either. Please don't say that... ;)

I have an appointment next week for the battery, but still waiting to confirm if they have a replacement in stock. If not, I'll wait until they order one; no reason to go there twice within a short time frame. Provided, if the the replacement available that is....
