mine does the same. does your steering wheel heat up well? Mine is very tepid.
The steering wheel is OK. It warms up pretty quickly, then cools down a bit.
I've experienced the same thing. It's almost like the steering wheel only gets hot when the gas engine is running. It's initially hot, then cools back down, then warms up, then cools down...

Also, the heated seats/wheel only come on with key in the ignition after remote start.

That's how anything heated like that works. Heated seats or steering wheels in a car, heated blankets, etc. It's a safety "feature" (or cheap design) where it cycles on and off instead of providing even heat.

Has @jsus said, the heat up & down is normal.

But the seats should come on with remote start. It did that with my ‘17 Fusion. Hoping someone gets the software figured out.

I'm quite familiar with heated steering wheels, and this is noticably different. It gets nice and toasty, then completely turns off to room temp, then maybe warms up a bit, then cools down, then repeats. But it never gets back to the original heat that it initially started with. Other Ford's I've driven will boil your hands until you manually turn it off. Same with other brands in our fleet, they get hot and stay hot. This one gets hot for a minute and then that's it.

I made a post awhile back about this same wonkiness- Basically barely functioning seat/wheel warmth when remote started, also my Lux wiper de/icer does nothing- Scheduling dealer appointment - Hoping airbag replacement can be done at the same time.

Anyone figure this out? I have a 2023 Lariat Lux and does exactly what everyone had been describing. It’s gotten cold here in the northeast, so hoping to get this figured out. My seats are also set to auto on remote start but are always cold when I get in until I hit the Start button. Wheel also seems to get hot initially and then Luke warm after for the rest of the trip. Curious if anyone had any luck solving either of these issues?

My Lariat Lux works fine. If I turn 'off' the truck with the heated seats on, they are 'on' the next time I start the truck.

Could this not be a setting that says remember last setting used? My 2013 silverado has this feature for ac or heat...or it can be auto. Same with my XL. Auto or remember last setting.

Honestly, I don't drive with the heated seats on anyways and usually only turn them on to warm up real quick then they stay off once the air con catches up. Even still, I find 63-65F to be the cozy spot in the Maverick during winter, and 72-74F during summer. It's either too damn cold or too damn hot lol. First world problems. But I have noticed the steering wheel fluctuating far too often which is something that I never noticed before on any vehicle with a heated steering wheel. Eh, still doesn't bother me too much as long as it works overall, but I agree it could be better and have less of a "cheap Chinese" circuitry to it...

What's funny is I have been binge watching Top Gear and they constantly ding our vehicles for being cheap, flimsy and full of plastic. And here we are getting even cheaper stuff from Chinese plants and slave labor countries... 'Murica...

I am in Texas and seldom remote start. I love the heated seats and wheel. It appears to me that when cabin temp approaches 60+ degrees (maybe 70?) The wheel and seats lower temps as cabin temps increase (maybe as cabin approaches auto temp setting?). If I remember correctly in order to keep wheel and seat on I had to set them to always on (if manual switch is on they are on they are on. If they are on automatic they will come on and off based on cabin temp). I usually have cabin heat set off and turn wheel and seat on to keep from heating entire cabin. It's supposed to be 30°F in morning so I may turn cabin to 68+/-. One quirk I found was that when cabin cool/heat is set to auto the fan speed will change from 1 to 2 to 3 to whatever speed was when truck turned off with the max speed on auto being the last set speed manually set. Perhaps the seat/wheel temp setting on auto works the same depending on last manually set number of heat bars. That might explain why wheel get hot and then turns off until temp approaches last manual set temp level and then warms slightly.

It's getting cool out and here are the settings in my Tremor that turn on the heated seats and steering wheel when the vehicle is remotely started from the key fob. Page 124. Instructions a little confusing.

My Lariat Lux does the same when started with the FOB. That's one feature that I actually like...

Some individuals claim they were having trouble with the heating seats not turning on when the remote started it so I decided just to put a photo of my settings up there.

That's not what people complain about.

The issue is that it isn't actually hot. You could remote start for 10+min and the seats are stone cold. When you get in and push start then it goes to level 3 and heats noticeably in a minute.

Some individuals had an issue when they use the remote start the heated steering wheel worked however the heated seat did not until they inserted the key and turn the ignition on OR pushed the start button. And yes when the key or push button was done the seats got hot right away. I had the same problem until I figured it out. Did you read what I wrote? Here is what I said' ( It's getting cool out and here are the settings in my Tremor that turn on the heated seats and steering wheel when the vehicle is remotely started from the key fob. Page 124.
