After two months of driving my Maverick, I got to thinking. Is it the price that is driving sales or the truck it’s self. I love this little truck so much that I would not trade even for a new Ranger or F-150. I keep hearing low price but I think size does matter. Am I the only one that thinks bigger is not always better? If Ford priced all three lines the same what truck would you drive?

I believe OP's original question implies only taking the price out of consideration among different sizes (for example, Maverick vs Rang vs F150, 250, 350) and styles (Pickup vs SUV vs Sedan vs Mini Van), but not the trim level (XL vs XLT, Lariat, Platinum).

Given the above understanding, I'd still choose Maverick. My own justification is that I'm looking for an easy-driving commuting vehicle with open bed which can haul home appliance, yard waste, and trips to home depot occasionally. Feul cost still matters. I want it to fit in my garage to sheild from weather elements. I don't look for a vehicle to define me but against my taste either (like a pink Cadillac).
I took it as either a Maverick (compact) Ranger (mid size) and F-150 (full size) costing the same amount in either trim. Didn’t read anything about sedans or SUV’s like others have chosen. Just my opinion on the OP’s post.

Honestly the Maverick. I've been wanting a awd small pickup for so long. I don't need a big pickup, and I don't off road. I just want to throw some stuff in the back.

I love my Escape, just wish it had a bed. Boom, this is it.
Well, we're fantasizing. Get both!

Mustang Mach-E GT. One of my best friends has one. Ugly as sin, but a blast to drive, plenty of room and cargo space for our family (we don't really need a truck), and we have access to free charging.

I have been waiting for a reasonable priced and sized pickup for 26+ years ever since I sold my Chevy luv in 1990's!
I had a 1980 Chevy Luv 4x4 Mikado package. At about 180K I put a used engine in it that came from Japan. Now I am lucky if I change the oil in a car.

I would buy a truck that isn't made yet. I've wanted a vehicle for a working carpenter. I would take a 2'x4'x8' block of Styrofoam and build as small a truck around it as possible so sheets of ply could fit in with doors shut. Vans don't cut it.
Otherwise, I really like/want the Maverick I ordered. I've ordered the Lariet with all the fixings. I want a steak sandwich, not a hamburger! Deleting items from my order would not be the truck I want.

Definitely a two door Bronco. At 174" it is two feet smaller than the Maverick. They need a truck kit on the Bronco in the worst way.

So, I can get any Maverick, Ranger or F 150 for the same price... Hmm... I get to choose the price.
So,
I'd buy the Ford F150 Lightning Platinum for the Maverick XL price , immediately sell it to someone who wants that vehicle for closer to the real price, buy a Maverick, and have a zero net outlay for a new vehicle plus a sizeable pile of Benjamins...

The down side, is that won't happen, but the up side is I already have a new Trucklett , so I don't need one anyway.

In my case, cost was a consideration, but I wanted the vehicle I got, rather than settled for it.

If the “same price” was $50,000 - i certainly would not choose a Maverick. Probably the F150 Lightning. Only if I get to keep my Maverick though.

Yeah I might have wanted to give the Lightning a low expense try out, but I got what I wanted really. Well apart from the fact it doesn't come in plug-in (yet?)

Though if you've got an older Maverick paid off, give it a "minute" and keep an eye on the lease deals if EV sales go much further off a cliff you might get a Lightning on a cheap lease.
