In that case, you should definitely base your opinions on it. 🤣

Just kidding. I am not a "Slate fan" necessarily, but this article is still based on hypotheticals, estimates, assumptions, and predictions. I'll be curious to see what shakes loose when actual customers share their experiences.

Yeah, there are too many unknowns with the total cost of ownership for the new wave of more affordable vehicles with LFP batteries. They may depreciate like lead balloons still, which totally skews the numbers, or they may hold their value a lot better since the batteries can last many thousands of charge cycles, and they should have less tech in them that ages like milk.

Can't vouch for the accuracy of the article but I thought it was an informative article. Ran across the article out of the blue wasting time on the internet today. Spoiler Alert, the Slate fans may not be pleased (base on "my" thoughts) after reading it all.

To me it really does not matter whichever vehicle costs more per month when one is as close to an oversized golf cart as you can get.

To me they aren't even vehicles I would compare. Now someone simply looking for a commuter?

O.K.

The Slate isn't going to pull my camper and even if I tried, it wouldn't pull it very far. I still wonder how the Slate will fare in the winter with people not used to a RWD vehicle. I had more than one S-10 I drove all year and I really like the old S-10's but I remember a Mustang I had that could get stuck in a flat parking lot in the winter.

Speculative numbers that probably just came straight from AI. Costs vary wildly from driver to driver. Articles like this are useless.
