You'd have better luck turning your dog into a unicorn than getting a Stout

Long time lurker and first time poster, here. I just sold my first Mav (23 XLT hybrid, lux, cactus) to order a 24 in a color I liked better (Azure, same configurations). Have a build date of 12/18, so life is good. I truly loved the first rig, from the mileage to the comfort to the ease of city maneuvering. With that said, I've owned 7 or 8 toyotas over the years and love their reliability.

What are your thoughts on waiting for a few years after the release of the 1st gen. Stout to let them work the bugs out, and then getting one? Anybody leaning in that direction? I realize this may be a bit premature given that Toyota hasn't formally announced the glidepath for production of the Stout, so sorry to jump the gun. Just wanted to poll the audience here regarding if they would switch over, or if the allegiance to ford and the maverick specifically is super high. Personally, it will take a pretty compelling Stout for me to leave the Maverick. They are so damn comfortable and the small size has tremendous advantage in space constrained areas.

My wife sold her car for a different color.
As for Toyotas, I don't want to drive a roll of paper towels.
Good luck.

As we used to say, "Wish in one hand, piss in the other. See which one fills up first."

Yes. Bring on the full EV Stout. I'm in no rush, but my interests have been piqued.

If you are waiting for a "Stout" or any Toyota compact pickup truck you better get used to waiting.
A LOOOOOOOOOOONG TIME.............
What else is new? I've been waiting for my hybrid Maverick for 17 months(since July 2021). At this point I am furious. Finally got a build date of Feb. 2024. I won't hold my breath nor will I ever buy another Ford.

July 2021? That's a lot more than 17 months. I ordered July of 22, and got mine in 51 weeks.

If toyota made a super duty when I bought my 250 in 2017, I would have bought it. Same for a hybrid compact truck. I have 2 XL hybrids I got about a month ago. But with Toyoda, you all know it will be superior.
And cost more out the door.

And the order banks for 2023s didn't even open until September of 22.

So either it's been way more than 17 months (and I bet a dealer didn't put the order in right if they've been waiting since '21), or they didn't get an order in until September '22.
