Are my wipers binding or is this normal?

Howdy, update time, took truck to the dealer, showed them the videos I took and did a live demonstration for them. Dramatic reenactment:

The techs said they'd never seen something like it in any other vehicle and agreed it was not normal. The service manager asked me to email him the videos as evidence to send to Ford and will request a new wiper motor as a warranty claim.

LOL, I do appreciate them reaching out and the actually replied quite quickly, though in the end they couldn't help me as I'm in Mexico. Guess Ford Mexico will have to relay the report to Ford USA.

That video demonstrates the exact issue I have with mine. Works great when wiping on the dry windshield or even to clean the windshield with the sprayers. After a minute or so of rain though it starts skipping and squeaking.

Yep, like the motor overheats or something, and only on the variable speed mode but not max speed or with the sprayers as you said. Maybe they have some sort of variable mechanical limiter in the motor that goes wonky?

My XLT has the issue in all modes. Awaiting back-ordered wiper motor.

Mine does this too but to a far minor degree and not always either. Just sometimes. But the wipers do seem to act funky one way or another. Not gonna bring it to the dealer over just this. Perhaps mention it when I get the oil changed though

Still waiting to hear from Ford. The dealer's service advisor emailed me asking for my phone number in order to call me with updates, but he apparently forgot I guess I will have to call them on monday.

I drove my truck through its first rain storm today and noticed the weird final shudder when the wipers are ending at the cowl. I too only experience it when it’s on the intermittent settings. When on the faster modes all is well. Curious what the solution is. Seems odd that so many brand new windshield motors would be faulty from the get go.

Mine actually started doing that yesterday. Only difference is mine does it at the "top" of the wipe instead of the bottom. I'm almost at 13k miles.

The service technician called me and told me they will disassemble the wiper motor just to check where the damage is and drop in a new one regardless. Now I'm just waiting to put 1000km/600mi more so that they'll do that during the first service scheduled.

Just discovered this issue today at 5000 miles. Used to be fine. Got video and taking it to the shop. (Some idiot also hit me in the lot recently so having a bumper replaced anyway.)

I get the little squeeky at the end on intermittent but no clunky. I turn the radio up.
