Have the Carlinkit on my Lariat Lux. So far so good. Has been working perfect for the week or so I’ve had it.

I have this one in another car and it works great.

I see someone above say that it did not work with their XLT. I believe them and would like to troubleshoot this myself a bit to see if I could get it working.

I suspect that the manufacturer will figure out how to get it working with the audio interface in the XL/XLT models. They’ve done a lot of updates over the years as non-working vehicles are brought to their attention.

@Cubican Do you mean XLT Lux or some other "lx"? Which one did you get to work with it (obviously not Ottocast)? If so, you might be the first one to get one to work in an XL/XLT with the Ford Connected Touch system.

CPLAY2air wireless adapter for factory CarPlay Works with Lux Lariat + AWD/Tow
I bought my unit directly from the manufacturer's website early in February 2020 and have had it installed for about a week. It has been fully compatible. The automatic reconnection after startup occurs within 15-20 seconds. I have experienced no difficulty. My Maverick is a Lariat Edition with Luxury package (B&O sound and CoPilot 360 v3)+ AWD and Tow Package. It took about 2-3 weeks to arrive and cost about $120. Tucks away nicely with 2-sided tape so it is a neat install. I am very pleased and cable-free!

I tried the carlinkit that my buddy had. Worked great in my maverick. Setup took 5 minutes. I ordered one on Amazon for 60, I had a coupon. 🤞🏼

I used one. It worked great, but my phone battery ran down quickly without being plugged in. I find by plugging my phone in to use car play, it works great, and my phone is always fully charged,.

Got my carlinkit today and works great. When I start up truck it takes around 20 secs to start wireless CarPlay. I can definitely live with that, especially on trips.

Yup! I bought carlinkit 3.0 wireless carplay adapter from 'carlinkitcarplay' half a year ago and it works really like a dream, I can't believe that I can buy such a good thing for such a low cost.
Simple install with good instructions, even if you just plugged it in you would be up and running without any problem.
Does exactly what they claim it does.

Carlinkit 3.0 did not work in my XL. I got 2 car play pop ups and then nothing. Luckily, I ordered the TNVTEC discussed here, worked perfectly out of the gate. Cost was $70 with Tax on the working one, so $5 less than the Carlinkit. These are starting to get really competitive on pricing, I wonder if there are manufacturer worries of Apple releasing a standard for this or their own, as we have seen with the Motorola / Android Auto device.

I've also been using the TNVTEC 2019-2022 dongle - works well so far. It has a few quirks, but they're very manageable, and as a general rule of thumb, the device pairs very quickly each time I start my vehicle. There is very little noticeable lag compared to using a wired connection.

Carplay Wireless Adapter, 2022 TNVTEC CarPlay Activator Dongle for i Phone with Factory Wired CarPlay for 2019-2022 Cars Model, Convert Wired to Wireless CarPlay, Support Online Update

Bought this for my XLT. Works well enough. Connects easily. It has lag if your watching a video but I don’t do that while driving.
Mounted a apple mag charger where the wireless goes. So phone goes there to charge and have me not look at it while driving. Dongle is mounted just above and forward under the usb outlets. Price seems to fluctuate. It was like 70 something when I got it.

The TNVTEC I did not find as reliable as the CPlay2Air on my Lariat with Sync3. I know the CPlay2Air doesn't work on the XL or XLT trims because they lack the Sync3. The TNVTEC does work on those models which is great. But my experience in comparing indicates the CPlay2Air connects more reliably and if for some reason it doesn't connect, offers you the ability to cancel and reconnect where as the TNVTECH does not. I tried the TNVTECH based off the reviews of being faster, but in my experience that isn't the case. It's about the same. I would say about every 3 out of 10 times the TNVTECH wouldn't connect and I would have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it connect. CPlay2Air that drops to about 1 and 10, but with the option to cancel and reconnect it usually connects without having to unplug it.

DO NOT BUY THE CPLAY2AIR if you don't have a Lariat with the Sync3. The best option will be the TNVTEC.
