I was using a protectant on the rocker panels when I saw rust already on the pinch welds and exposed painted surfaces underneath. 8 months old and less than 2000 miles. Never driven in the rain or snow.

Uh oh… I’m pretty sure my province uses more salt than anyone, this would be very very bad. Any more details on what area of the underside of the truck you’re seeing this at?

The longer I wait, and the more I learn of the of what seems to be many issues coming about with the Maverick, makes me start to think that I possibly have made a bad decision on ordering a Ford product. Gonna have to take some time to reconsider!

You have plenty of time to sell.

That’s not good. I don’t care if you drive in rain, that should not be there especially on today’s vehicles. Would love to know what Ford says about that. Probably it’s normal and not a worry.

Let me guess, Ford only covers complete rust (hole) thru?

Up near the passenger door and drivers door. just underneath where there is I guess a portion of the floor pan. Most of the underside is covered .

I realize it's surface at this point but it should be covered under the paint warranty.

Good morning. I'd like to look into your rust concerns on my end. Could you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer to get started?

I have been checking for undercarriage rust, scraping, wire brushing and painting on our vehicles for years. Especially our MH which is a yearly maintenance job. This is just another vehicle that I have to check. Not that it should not be addressed and repaired especially after a few months by Ford. Thanks for the information. It is very helpful moving forward.

Yea, this sucks! I bought a 2003 Grand Cherokee out of Florida in 2019 with about 80,000 miles on it and it had zero rust underneath so I took it to Ziebart. Will do the the same with my Maverick as soon after I get it as I can.

Only solace here is this will be a manufactures paint/rust warranty item, unlike the OEM mud flaps rubbing the paint down to me bare metal which isn't covered.

Warranty "...warranty coverage only applies if a body sheet metal panel becomes perforated due to corrosion..."
Perforated means holes.
