I’m considering buying an extended warranty Ford premium care from Zeigler. They are cheaper than Granger and Flood with the PAYINFULL code. I just bought a 2026 hybrid AWD Maverick Lariat. I drive about 7500 miles per year. My question to the group is how many years to get? I’m 64 yrs old with no commute to work. Trying to figure out how many years to go. Minimum of 8, max of 10. What say you?

8 yr/ 75k miles with key service and lights covered, $100 deduct = $1885

9 yr / 75k miles with key service and lights covered, $100 deduct = $2160

9 yr / 85k miles with key service and lights covered, $100 deduct = $2365

10 yr/ 75k miles with key service and lights covered, $100 deduct = $2470

10 yr / 85k miles with key service and lights covered, $100 deduct = $2700

Plus 3 years of factory warranty give you 11 years! Enough

I drive about 10K miles per year. I would personally bank the money and see how the vehicle does the first three years while under warranty. Drivetrain covered for 60K miles. An 8 or 10 year warranty package is really a 5 to 7 year warranty as Ford covers the first three years. Waiting three years will result in an increased cost for the warranty if you decide you want it at the end of the Ford Warranty Period but you will offset that somewhat by drawing interest on the initial payment in the bank. Really kind of depends on your aversion to risk. The only risk is how much more it will cost in three years minus the interest you earn. Meanwhile you will see just how reliable your Maverick really is.

Companies selling these products are not in business to lose money. The product is great if you happen to be the one who really experiences costly repairs. Most do not.

NO, it does not work that way.

The "8 year plan" in this case extends the inherent warranty and provides 8 total years (or mileage) of warranty from the in-service date.

I liked better the way @Cancunbadlands said it.
I want the warranty I pay for, to begin when my bumper to bumper warranty ends. 😠

But that statement was not correct and we certainly don’t want to add confusion to those who are new to the Forum or Ford ESP.

That’s exactly what the Ford ESP provides, the ESP you pay for begins upon base warranty expiration and the ESP extends the inherent warranty to the desired number of years or mileage.

We all know its pricing leverages all inherent warranty And we’re not “double paying “

Read the Ford Protect warranty again. Buy it and it starts the day you brought the truck, not time you purchase it. Not getting 11 years. It’s 8 yrs, inclusive of factory original warranty. As I see it an owner is getting 5 yrs worth of Ford Protect plan.

You only get 8 years total. The coverage starts on the day the truck is first registered.

The start date of the Ford ESP is not tied to vehicle registration.

Ford ESP begins on the vehicle's in-service date and the ESP mileage starts with the vehicle mileage on that in-service date.

You might want to consider the $0 deductible plan. When I checked with the service department to be sure the ESP I bought was registering in their system, the service manager remarked that getting the $0 deductible was a smart move.

These warranties don't start at the end of the factory warranty. They run concurrently. When the vehicle reaches 8 years or 75,000 miles (in your example) the extended warranty expires.
