Its not a good build quality.
The 2005 Escape Hybrid was bullet proof. I have many concerns in the first 60 days of ownership.

This!! I can’t say it any better. People expect more cause they paid more not in this case. Lariat is just throwing lipstick on a pig. It's not a 20-30k truck. If yours was 30k then that means you have a 20k truck with 10k of add-ons. Every model, including a maxed out Lariat at 39k+ is, at its heart, a 20k truck.
My Mav was one of the final 22s built I assume. I got it end of October. Its a 2.0 lariat and for me the quality is as good or better than expected. It's definitely a 20k truck, but thinner metal delivers lower weight and this thing just wasn't designed as a heavy duty off-roader. If used within the expected parameters, it should perform in line with the value it provides.Yes its a 20-30k truck so i shouldn't expect luxury. these are some of the build quality issues ive come across not even gotten through my first tank of gas.
1. There is no insulation between the engine and the cab. When i open my drivers door i can see inside my engine bay. Ill elaborate more on this later on.

2. The fender liners dont align, mate, and cover the wheel well. tons of dirt, salt, etc gets up inside the engine bay from here and accelerates corrosion in hard to reach spaces, especially the pinch welds. Dirt and grime also easily migrates to the door seals, door wiring boot and can seep its way inside the frame.

3. The rear wheel well fender liner and splash guard doesnt cover or protect the rocker panel and the wheel constantly shoves water and dirt into it accelerating corrosion. i dont think there is a product that could even help this as theres just to much water flow.

4. this one is a little more specific to me, The steering wheel upholstery is torn and not fitted well, you can easily see inside the steering column into the engine bay.

besides the torn upholstery are these same issues on everyone else mavericks? or worth raising a warranty claim?. Anyone else have things they've noticed?

This was us and also the two other families I know that have Mavericks. Certainly there are "truck owners" who have bought Mavericks and it may be the best small work truck ever, but this is Ford's compact sedan since they ditched everything but the mustang.City folk here. I have multiple friends very interested in the Mav and not a single one owns a truck. Their cars right now are all hatchbacks, sedans and the occasional Subaru.
Trucks having garbage gas mileage, oversized for city garages, high price tag and limited backseat space has been a huge deterrent for folks buying trucks. For those folks the Mav is a perfectly targeted vehicle.
I've never had a car of any age or price rattle as much as the Maverick. Hell, it's not even really "rattles" so much as it sounds like panels flapping around. It's not one or two, either, where they might could be isolated and fixed. The bass heavy B&O certainly does not help these, either. It feels like it was assembled at gunpoint. It's definitely cheap. I am afraid all new cars are built cheaply though. My 20 year old Lexus has less rattles than my brand new maverick. Yes I know its a Lexus but I think the more important point is it's 20 years old and ages better than a brand new car.
I love the maverick for the price and mpg. There is nothing comparable at this time. If Toyota or Honda comes out with something comparable I will jump on it.
whats the plan with the 2023 you have ordered? since you can't stand the 2022 you own the only thing that comes to mind is it's a flipper.I initially planned to hang onto the Maverick while waiting for the redesigned Prius to make it to market, but I don't think I can stand it that long.
I made a panel to prevent debris from being thrown up onto the tail light, search for my thread "custom fabricated panel".I think the body panels are really thin. They are thinner than our Edge for sure.
Also, debris from the driver's side rear tire getting thrown into the body panel and taillight is not impressive at all. Just how long has Ford been making vehicles anyway?
There's a really bad turbulence noise when I lower the only the rear windows at highway speed. It's alarmingly bad.
