Only problem I had was when I got home from the dealership my tailgate wouldn't open! I made sure to unlock it and tried everything! Called the dealer, they said they hand washed it before I picked it up and to put it in my garage because was probably frozen shut. Sure enough, the next morning gate opened just fine. Lol
If I lived in Ohio I'd probably be frozen shut! Fl. boy here!

Picked up my 2.0 EB on 11/19/21, 2100 miles so far. No problems at all, pleasantly surprised with MPG, handling is great. Still waiting on rear mudflaps, bedmat. Glad I made the purchase, looking forward to spring, summer fun behind the wheel.

Seeing all these threads from folks reporting all manner of problems. I was wondering how many people have taken delivery and have experienced no problems at all.
My Wife has almost 800 miles on her truck, no issues other then a couple of times the radio didn’t function correctly but I told her to turn it off and on again and that seems to clear it up. Other then that minor bug she loves it and no other issues Of note.

mine has no problems other than the annoyance of the infotainment system.
i've actually grown to like it more than i thought i could. Its not the type of vehicle my friends and family would have expected me to purchase.

Reading the reviews on anything is a trap. People who hate products love to bad mouth and give it a 1 star. Few people want to rave about it and give it 5 stars. Everyone that is satisfied is not talking. Similar to a forum. Plenty of hype and some small to serious issues

I know I can’t remember all the issues but below are some of them. I would use it as a guide of things to keep an eye out for but not to stress over.

Fuel tank recall - problem solved going forward
Seat belt recall - problem solved going forward

Paint chips (rocks)
broken front grill (probably a 🪨 rock)

Windshield cracked (rocks and warranty)

Transmission fluid overflowing (overfilled during build, Ford said this issue has been addressed)

Ford pass remote start on hybrids running rich and turning the CAT red hot is a computer issue that Ford needs to fix.

Various alignment issues from a few people. Should be an easy fix for any of them. I’ve heard steering wheel shakes at 70 MPH and truck pulls the right from two different people.

Half shaft and control arm squeak/leak - both got replaced under warranty.

Radio freezing - Ford said the fix is coming next week.

Various rattles from different components that got lose, easy fix for most of them so far.

Rain leaks into back door because of improper sealant behind door panel. Fixed by the dealer without issue.

poor sealant/weld where truck bed meets the windshield (bottom left/driver side). This is an eye sore more than an issue.

Hood shake that has numerous solutions.

Dead on Arrival. One hybrid has been DOA and status is unknown at this point. It’s sad but sometimes there is a dud.

Some people have noted that when they hit a deer, or semi truck their truck no longer functions.

edit -here is the link to a working spreadsheet with all the issues above and more.
Thanks so much for your contributions. How are we to know when we need to bring to the dealer for the fuel tank issue? How to identify the trans fluid issue, will it just be leaking everywhere? Where can we check for recalls? How did you notice you needed the half shaft and control arms replaced ? Which components were "loose" on your Mav? I've enjoyed your posts and reading about the work you've done to your truck! Looks great!

No problems here so far, annoyances yes but those are not related to defects in the manufacturing or assembly of the truck. I'd also add in my case the truck was confirmed to have been tested prior to shipping to the dealer and had 30 miles on the odometer when I received it.

Your very welcome. I actually am just addicted to reading all things Ford Maverick and I don’t own my truck yet. That list was completely from various reports on here. No one person has experienced all those issues. It is highly unlikely anyone will.

How are we to know when we need to bring to the dealer for the fuel tank issue?

The ford pass app will alert you of any recalls. The fuel tank issue will be fixed befoe you get it. it was caused using the spray in bed liner process. Ford outsourced the spray in bed liner and the company covered holes during the process. To clear the debris they used a drill bit and drill/scratched the fuel tank below the bed. If your truck hasn’t been built yet this issue is already a thing of the past.

How to identify the trans fluid issue, will it just be leaking everywhere?

The transmission fluid will be come out from the pressure relief valve. This will appear as a small leak. Ford said they fixed this problem of overfilling the transmission. Fluid could also come from where the half half shake meets the transmission. The half shaft Snap ring is likely faulty and needs replaced.

Where can we check for recalls?

Ford pass app or maverick truck club will have it

How did you notice you needed the half shaft and control arms replaced ?

Someone reported squeaks over bumps. The dealer said it was those components and replaced them. I

Which components were "loose" on your Mav?

Someone reported a gas tank funnel to be rattling behind the back seat. Also some one installed a hitch receiver and it rattled (he blamed the truck at first). Another person has a dashboard rattle, to be determined on solution.

I made a compilation of all the issues click here for more info.
