Airbag Recall - Nightmare or just fine ?

I feel the same, like it done and outta the way, I'll just wait...

I would at least have the dealer get your parts ordered. They don't magically appear and will probably be a wait of at least two months.

Took 3 days to get the parts. Problem was they had no clue what to do with them.

My dealer historically does a great job, my truck didn’t go in until they had the parts on hand
Took them a day
Not sure what the tech was doing but I’m now getting a new dash
Obviously not excited about it but I can’t deal with all the scratches…. Hopefully there won’t be too many rattles to track down
In hindsight I wouldn’t have bothered with the recall

Ok did the prep work- 303'ed all of the interior plastics and got videos/pictures- Goes under the knife tomorrow morning- Will keep this thread up to date- Cheers

Sadly not unexpected as many service techs can't even seem to perform a simple oil change, which doesn't require touching the headliner, without staining it with greasy hands...

Did they give you trouble when you asked for a new dashboard? I'm hoping it's not an uphill battle for me to get it replaced due to the scratches.

So, because of the reported issue with the air bags, I am totally unconcerned. I may never get it done because of all the problems reported after having it done.

I will delay, delay and delay again.

Has anyone had the Side/Airbag recall performed and have had it not been a disaster with dash scratches - Mis/Aligned A -Pillars and or new dash rattles ?

No issues whatsoever at Bill McCandless Ford in Mercer, Pa.

I have been waiting 6 weeks to get the recall done. I’m getting it done at Galvin Ford in Van Nuys CA. They say they are the largest Ford dealer for 19 years In a row. They can’t get the air bags. You would think being the biggest dealer they would have plenty of air bags.
