A/C always on at startup

When I start up my new 2026 I noticed that the a/c is always on even if it was turned off when the engine was stopped. I checked the manual and there is no reference to this. Is that normal, never seen that happen in another car.

It seems to turn on based on temperature. This morning it was about 60 degrees and the ac was off. As I was driving the temperature rose enough that the ac switched on automatically.

For clarification you had the system ON using the fan for air circulation, but the actual AC was turned off.

What was the temperature set at?

system set to auto and 72f. AC was off when I started the truck and turned on about half way on my drive

In the situation you described above. I would absolutely expect the AC to turn on.

Was reading the other threads and tried this. I started the truck and the ac was on, temp was set at 68 where I had left it. I turned off the ac and raised the temp to 80 and shut the truck off. When I restarted it the temp was still set to 80 but the ac was back on. Maybe its a humidity thing as suggested in the other thread?

If the humidity is too high in the cab, then the a/c is turned on to dry the air. Why is the humidity so high in your cab?
