Never said this was not a good feature. I 100% understand how both systems work... Was just asking the OP to clarify his original post.Headlight switch defaults to Auto every time you wake the vehicle. If you leave the vehicle with the switch on Off, it will return to Auto for your next drive. Auto highbeams can be disabled, defaulting to Auto headlights can not.
So, you know, you don't forget to turn your headlights on, which is easy to do with 1) auto lamps, and 2) an instrument cluster that is lit up all the time. The only cue to remind you your lamps are off is the little indicator lamp in the corner, which is easy to overlook, making it easy to forget to turn your headlights back on.
This is a good feature.
