Stealth onboard air compressor install in bed.

Finally got to this project:
VAIR 12v 23amp 2CFM (enough to seat a tubeless Mtb tire)

Hard mounted into the bed cubby
Wired directly to the 12v battery under the rear seat in the hybrid. I installed a 30amp fuse inline to the compressor. Routed the wiring along the factory harness above the fender well, and thru one of the body vents into the backseat.

Nice and clean fits like a glove!

Sweet. On-board air is awesome. Last week I picked up a nail in the factory conti's, hadn't stocked the truck yet and had to borrow stuff to plug the tire. I hate being the helpee instead of the helper. Now I have a plug kit and a portable viair 89P that lives under the rear seat.

yes it is IP54 rated, I keep to downs in that cubby and they have never gotten wet so it well protected but the unit is sealed as well.

I've had this one under the seat for a couple of years, and while it isn't "heavy duty," I like that it has SAE and 120V power, as well as a shutoff when it reaches the set PSI. In my experience the PSI readings are at least as accurate as the TPMS...

I originally bought mine to use at the track when I used to race my car. Since then I just keep it in the car I do most of my road-tripping in.

I also have two compressors in my other car...haha
