Here are the basic dimensions I used, make the 2 parts and invert one of them. use 2 short (1.25 length) 3/8-16 screws but don't tighten them so tight the boards won't slide. Attach a stretch spring between the eye hooks and as you push the board ends together the spring has tension.

I too have had these problems. The 3rd one they sent we was better on the the hole pattern with 3 out of 4 lining up. Also used a Dremel tool to clear the fenders. I put the rubber bumpers on the bottom of the guard rather than stick it on the painted hood.

Nope, you have to wriggle and force it into position. It is really tight on the thickness of the hitch and it needs to fit behind the bumper on the sides.
