Mongo has technically joined the 600 mile per tank club.

This is all city driving with 55-60 mph max speed. I have 340 feet of elevation change from work to home. I am sure if it was flat the 700 is not beyond probabilities. Since I fill at half tank mark every time Ito maximize fuel delivered to my tank. These are the readings. It took 6.8 gallons 37 bucks for 3 weeks Friday to Friday for this 8am fill.
Ac, windows and sunroofinterchangeably used during this time and its been somewhat hot. Not as hot or rainy for some poor folks out there.

Also since gas vapor is free gas given back to the gas station at my expense is what I want to avoid.

How big is your tank 40 Gallons 🤣
No...36 gallons

Just drove 1300 miles avg 18.9 mpg

For almost 6000 lbs and 5.4 L V-8 that ain't bad. Plus carrying with another 1000 lbs of stuff.

Oh and its a real 4WD capable with a transfer case hi/lo range

Mostly highway driving so lower all electric miles. I really have not driven it much as I got my Kia Soul EV back from the shop a few weeks back and uses that for daily driving, free electricity and all that. Still, happy with the fuel economy of the truck. I'm taking it on a 1,500 mile road trip in a week and hope to 48mpg average., being in the UP of Michigan and not needing AC will help.

I don't have one yet; but am looking forward to getting one. Looking at all the images in this thread, the "electric miles" numbers seem exceptionally high. I assume nearly all of the "electric miles" are those cumulations of coasting down to stops. Like 400 quarter mile slow downs / coast downs to add up to 100 "electric" miles. How far can you PROPEL the maverick on electricity? I'm assuming about 1 mile. My car now is a Toyota Venza hybrid and I've had a hybrid continuously since 2005, so am quite familiar with the technology, and all had about one mile for forward propulsion as the batteries are quite small. Toyota does not give me "electric miles" but curiously, gives me electric time. See image.

Like everything, it depends. Flat ground? Slow throttle? No or little ac? You can go a few miles if you keep it under 45.

Any time the engine stops firing is electric miles. Either charging or using the electric motor.

City driving and anything under 45 is where you're going to see the electric miles. If you punch the gas at a stop light, you'll go right into hybrid regardless of the charge state.

Switch the display to the drive train page and it will show you a bar of how much battery power you have available. Keep the blue from reaching the end of the bar and you stay in electric. As the battery drains, the bar gets smaller and eventually you'll switch to hybrid regardless how light on the pedal you are. (this is in the lariat, not sure what the xl or xlt shows).

(I'll get a photo of it tomorrow, can't find one ever taken in my camera roll)

This was my fill up last night. Apparently I didn't fill it all the way the previous time because my miles wasn't going as far as I thought I did. Would've got 600mi otherwise. Took 13.6g to fill it. Even if I had filled it up entirely last tank that's 41.5mpg.

With the hybrid pressurized tank you're not supposed to pump passed the click. And think the previous gas station pump was a bit touchy. I'm going on a 1700mi trip this week. So I'll check the mpg the entire trip off the pump receipts and compare to the dash estimates as well.

Thanks. Last question: is EV not possible above 45 mph, or just most likely under 45 mph? Can you be in EV mode going downhill on an Interstate at 65 mph?

I had a 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid.
EV was not possible above 40 mph, but there was a "fuel cut" mode, engine spun, no fuel used when going downhill above 40 mph. So similar, but technically not EV mode.

Jump to the 2019 Rav 4 Hybrid and the 2021 Venza hybrid, both allow true EV mode up to 80 MPH.

Ive got over 6k on mine. Usually getting 46 to 47 mpg. Go the speed limit on the highway really helps.

I've seen my Maverick drop into all electric mode at least up to 65 mph.

So here we are, five miles from officially getting 600 miles per tank on the hybrid with a little left in the tank…. Anyone else approaching 600 miles per tank? ( yes I realize driving style and conditions vary, but hey…it’s still great mileage)

like others said, you can get ICE off/
battery only coasting and some minimal acceleration up to ~ 65mph. Above 70 is much less likely in my experience. Again, beware of the term EV mode, thats means different things in different vehicles.
