No. They were talking about the power inverter location.
There is a a thread titled, "Power Inverter Location?"

Can you provide a photo of the black box you are referring to?

From the other thread:

" Found the inverter location, it is the blue box in the picture attached to the floor under the center console "

That is not the inverter. One member stated he has that black box but doesn't have 100v.

I wish someone with the inverter would trace the wires.

Not clear on what you are saying but I don't have time to continue on this.

If the diagram with the blueish outlines is correct, that would be a lousy location for an inverter since inverters generally require either passive cooling (no enclosure around it, natural open air heat dissipation) or active cooling (fan driven) which would be fan noise right besides the front occupants of the vehicle.

You may be right, time will tell.

If someone has the black box, please take a close up picture of the label and post ... thanks.

I think he's saying folks with the black box behind the seat don't have an outlet and folks with a hybrid in cab outlet don't have the black box. I think it's in the center arm rest console based on everything I've read for the hybrid.

The OP of this thread used an inverter from a different mfg that doesn't look fan or air cooled- probably just a lot of metal to dissipate the heat.

The Hybrid is simple, it's not dependent upon engine speed or even if the engine is running. The DC to DC converter gets its power from the 400V battery. The 150 amps at 12V corresponds to only around 5 amps from the 400V battery. The Hybrid cycles the ICE on an off to maintain the 400V battery as needed.
I have not seen anything official but based on the "You should not use the power outlet for
these types of electric devices:" list in the manual I think it is a MSW inverter

You should not use the power outlet for
these types of electric devices:
• Cathode ray tube type televisions.
• Motor loads, for example vacuum
cleaners, electric saws and other
electric power tools, or
compressor-driven refrigerators.
Measuring devices which process
precise data, for example medical
equipment or measuring equipment.
• Other appliances requiring an
extremely stable power supply, for
example microcomputer-controlled
electric blankets or touch sensor
lamps..
Excellent find wyouger and this is just the stuff we need. So, it's obvious now that Ford is installing a MWS unit in the Maverick. I am so glad you posted your research because you probably just saved a few members from losing a tool or piece of equipment. Not the end of the world for those that invested in the OEM inverter but the limitations of just 400 watts is also a problem for many of us. I spent hours today talking to engineers and even some inverter manufactures. One question I asked an engineer today was about using MWS for a typical Ryobi charger. His answer was "depending on the manufacture it shouldn't be a problem.'

I hoping to get the specifications from my previous post to confirm a design for the EB models. I can say, it looks promising so far.

As for the Hybrid, there are still a few unknowns but there also may be some surprising news there too -- stay tuned.

Hope to get the EB alternator ratings and battery size so I can report the end results of the inverter research. If someone that has an EB and can't get an Amp meter reading might be able to find the rating on the alternator housing. If so please post the ratings and just post a photo of the battery. Below is an example of what you're looking for.

This ratings that look like “50/120A 13.5V,” which are typically printed or stamped on the housing of an alternator.

It's a pretty beefy battery because it has to support the constant cycling of the auto start stop and run all the electronics when stopped. Hope this helps.

I ordered mine from the factory for $150.00 and pice of mind knowing I wouldn't have to call the Fire Department in the middle of the night 😅
I mean, so did I -- but it's still a nicely done modification.

I have been reading some older forums for adding a power inverter to Prius and Escape hybrids. If I understand correctly the Prius has a fuse or fusible link a the the 12v battery. If the Maverick has one as well this, could be a limiting factor as to the maximum size inverter we can install.
