The mileage on the screen usually is very optimistic - read Car and Driver, Motor Trend, ... reviews. I remember people with Jeep Wranglers claiming they were getting 45 mpg. Doing the calculation with actual mileage and gallons used is a better estimate but still not highly accurate based on driving conditions, weather, grades, different pumps shutting off at different volumes, etc. Best to use a range and throw out the outliers to get a better idea.

I got 480 miles out of my last tank which showed 31 mpg but the actual calculated mileage came in at 30 mpg with a 16 gallon fill up. Might have been able to stretch it out to 500 miles but didn’t want to risk running out of gas!!

Was that all highway miles?

Curious as to how the AWD, FX4 with the 4K towing package compares with these numbers. Pretty damn good numbers overall

I have an eco with awd 4K and got 29.5 on my recent 500 mile road trip with my 400lb atv in the bed. The handlebars and front fenders were sticking up over the roof though so that definitely hurt the mileage. Also the first 60 miles of the drive was stop and go traffic. It was at 31 at times.

That was what stood out most, how exactly were you getting only 30mpg max in a civic?

That is pretty incredible efficiency for a pickup, but realize that many of us are beating EPA estimates in our hybrids at a similar clip. We're at 49.9mpg after the first 5k miles in mixed driving.

My Civic had the less efficient 1.5L Turbo 4-cylinder. If I had gotten the 2.0L N/A 4-cylinder I would've gotten the same 36 mpg or more.

Our '22 Eco/4K/FX4 gets about 26.5 town and 33ish on the highway with A/C @ 75mph.
Just went upstate NY to Emporia VA on a tank of gas.
Loving it!

The REAL MPG

I've seen several posts stating my Maverick Hybrid EcoBoost got XX MPG and more. They back them up with pictures of their dash. The only way to have your REAL MPG is by filling up your tank and filling it up again, and doing the math with your total mileage. Anyone can post a picture of their dash for a short trip and have it show 30, 40, 50 or more MPG. If you want to give an honest MPG value, give us a gas tank refill, do the math with your total miles driven and then state what kind of MPG you are getting. Don't go posting a 30 or 60 mile trip and post a picture.

So tired of these posts.

The link above references the Hybrid but EcoBoost owners are just as guilty.

AWD with tow package 20 mpg in city… on really long highway maybe 29-30 mpg.
