I have a feeling the performance model will be hybrid. Why not it goes with the electrification theme of the moment.
Great idea. I would be all over an AWD Hybrid performance model if they were to offer it. Ford, hello? Anyone listening? I am sure there are others that would be up for that too.

I would say 280hp is not unreasonable, but reliability of the driveline will be a factor, other parts might need to be beefed up. Tuners are currently getting at least that much if not more out of the Maverick. They are able to knock off a half second from a 1/4 mile time with just a tune, how much more HP does it take to do that with a 3600lb vehicle? 250HP is already healthy, hell I ran a couple 14.6 passes with mine at the strip stock, with 280-300HP I would have to wear a helmet.

Shootz I wore a helmet when I ran my 84 E150 down the strip when I was 17. It wasnt stock at all though, it had a flex fan, magnesium wheels, and a flipped air cleaner lid. Ran a hot 18.86 on my second pass. Even broke the 60 mph barrier! The helmet was an old rugby helmet I found in my dads barn.

Maybe not a bad idea on the strut tower brace and swaybar upgrade after seeing the pictures of the Pirelli tires after 9950 miles. Something is flexing way too much on that truck.

Wow I have 20k on my tires and they are still going strong but I have the faulken Wildpeak AT3W tires that came on mine. Maybe a bad batch from Pirelli. I think steedia makes both braces already, I have a race chip that I bought back in December but not installing it till my warranty is up along with upgraded intake will put me close to 300 maybe 290

What my front tires look like at 20k. Hard to tell but they are still above half worn

While 280 is possible I suspect it's an error on Ford's part. The video was really sad though. Way too much focus on electric vehicles when they are NOT as environmentally friendly as hybrids. Fact is: focusing on automobiles only addresses a small percentage of carbon emissions and emissions are just part of the environmental problems we face. I could be wrong but it amounts to putting a band aid on a bullet wound.

Not much noticable. I'm probably getting converted, I hope they've addressed the 1st year growing pains with some quality upgrades.
Issues are addressed through out the year, they don't just wait till the next year builds to start fixing things. Late year builds are at the same point new year models are.

I thought this video was rather good on the Ford Company and Maverick information. But I’m a little skeptical about the 280 hp he claims (at time line 2:10 in the video) for the 2023’s. (1/22 order).
I'm positive the youtuber made a mistake. He first says the Maverick will have an IDENTICAL powertrain like the 2022 model, then says ecoboost has 280hp.

That's what I'm hoping. And, that's the reason for these delays.

Not to mention Ford released the 2023 technical specs with the Tremor and power was unchanged.

Yep feeding humans is the most immediate polluter we need to sort out, after that its construction and energy production that are killing the planet. Im at the point now where Im apologizing ahead of time to children who will be around 60 years or so from now.
