'23 Hybrid is the battery swap this difficult to accomplish?

No, it's not. I used a long 10mm T handle with a magnet stuck on it to remove and replace the hold down bolt, but a long extension will do (might need a long and short together). Trickiest part is removing the plastic cover on the positive terminal. 5 min. job, no need to pull the plastic panels for an original dimension replacement battery.

It is easier to remove all the plastic trim but it is doable without removing everything.

Just be prepared to get your hands all scraped up.

Why did you remove all the underseat trim panels? The replacement is easily done with a 10mm socket on a (say) 12" extension with a bit of tape in the socket to pull the bolt out. Its literally a 5-minute job and the mandatory full charge and BMS reset takes a lot longer.

I followed this guide and did it in around 10 minutes, using a magnet to retrieve the bottom fastener, and a piece of tape to hold it on the extension for re-install.

I would not be removing plastic trim pieces if at all possible. Pretty easy to break stuff, and it often doesn't go back together perfectly / snugly.
