Interesting info. Surprised about Carbonized Gray but trends fade. The blue looks interesting. I wish the new generation ('28?) would have a plug-in option; when my Maverick was getting body work done for 2 weeks the dealer gave me a brand new Escape plug-in and I was very impressed. The plug/hybrid fit my needs perfectly, never using gas until weekend road trips.

I'll be sniffing out the Fathom as well. As charging infrastructure continues to grow, I'd consider a full EV.

Wait, so the $2,395 upcharge for the Lariat Maverick 501A is just for the AWD!?!?!? The 500A is a FWD Hybrid?

It used to be on the Lariat that the base motor was the EB and the upgrade was the Hybrid AWD.

If they are going to take the ecoboost away from the Lariat trim they should at least allow the FX4 package on the Hybrid AWD especially after the adjustments that were made to the 2026 model year. Either that or find away to get the Tremor to 4K tow. Since 2024 model year you cannot get a Lariat ecoboost with FX4 and 4K tow. This was a great trim with these packages that gave you a truck that did a little bit of everything and had the amenities of the Lariat trim. I'll be keeping mine as long as i can.

i stand corrected, thats funny.
Why? I got the exact vehicle I wanted for $2k under MSRP with a couple emails and no further hassle. Only reason I got a pickup was for the bed, but if I ever do need to leverage the massive 2,000 lb towing of the FWD hybrid, I can install the tow stuff myself on a Sunday afternoon for around $300-400.

Never been a believer in having a bunch of stuff I don't need just to have it. I understand in principle that a pickup without a tow hitch seems contradictory, but that's not really the case for the non-4K tow vehicles that have about the same capability as a FWD RAV4.

That's fair.

What's the savings difference omitting the receiver? A quick search shows $100 from the build sheet, which honestly doesn't make sense not to get it, but to each their own.

I think it's safe to say that you would be in the minority of truck buyers looking for a maverick specifically without a hitch receiver.

For whatever reason the high volume dealers like Long McAurthur and Granger ended up with a lot of basic XL and XLT models w/o tow hitches or other add ons in 2024 after years of not even being able to buy one at MSRP, so I didn't hesitate. No idea if they got that stock from cancelled customer orders, or possibly allocations from Ford at prices that gave them room to discount.

It will be interested to see what a basic 27' XL actually ends up costing on a dealer lot once the stock is out there.

That $100 hitch option from the factory, becomes a 700 to $1,000 option after the fact.
I wish all Mavericks came with a receiver hitch as standard equipment and $100 delete if you don't want it.

if your dealer is playing games with you, find a better dealer. they are out there.
Few and far between around here. I waited two years to finally get my first Mav under MSRP.

Had to drive 4 hours for the second.

All I am saying, the more options a vehicle has the more song and dance the dealer will inevitably do and the harder it is to find stuff spec'd to your liking on the lot. I will have to look at what even is the Lariat LUX package, seems stupid that the top trim has a package like that.

I think I saw something similar on a Lariat F-150 but it added some over the top stuff like reclining or massaging seats maybe.

Bed liner I can maybe forgive if there are people who want to do their own, but I doubt that.

The 2027 Ford model just lost my interest! The Maverick has gone down hill since the 2022 early model. What started as a "Affordable" truck, is now a money hungry over priced truck. No longer a truck for the common person!!! (Yes, I own the 2022 model and the ONLY reason is because it was affordable) Not going nor could I pay $40,000 - $50,000 for an everyday "Take the Trash or DYI" truck.

Gladwin Green will be very close to Eruption Green.

I'm kinda missing Area 51.
Area 51 is one of the few release colors that I think will age well. Unlike, say, whatever that yellow shade on the 11-gen F-150 was called.

Seat of the pants observation:

When I was looking for a Maverick to buy earlier this year, all four dealerships within my county had a total of only three Hybrids among them to choose from. All four dealerships had plenty of EB Mavericks, most with the 4K Towing package.

Most of those Mavericks - in any trim - on the four local dealer lots were one of three color choices: Space White, Azure Grey, and Carbonized Grey. Trying to find either Ruby Red or Orange Fury was a study in frustration, even looking as far away as 500 miles.

That's why I special ordered my Maverick. I wanted a Hybrid Lariat with Orange Fury paint, and without many of the options that push(ed) the price of the Maverick up into the high $40K range. On Ford's "Employee Pricing" program - getting exactly what I wanted - the MSRP on mine came in comfortably less than $40K.

It makes sense to me that Ford is attempting to drop the "price of admission" on the Lariat.
Yeah, that combination is definitely a special order. Bright or polarizing colors don't sell well, and those that want one typically also want all the options.

Which is also why I found it amusing that you could get Light Blue on an XL. I actually wanted Ruby Red, which isn't available on the XL.

I wonder what the take-rate was of the local dealerships. Maybe they ordered evenly but the hybrids sold themselves. Or maybe they just ordered few hybrids.

Well looks like I'll keep my 24 lariat. I took a 22 hybrid on a test drive and was not impressed. When they raised above 40k for the lariat I was like you know that's ranger prices. I love my black appearance package. So my ford dealer can just keep calling me!

During the process of ordering mine I got to know the Internet Sales Manager at my local dealership. He also has the responsibility for ordering stock for the lot. He told me he would sell the XLT and Lariat Hybrids almost as quickly as they landed, leaving him with only a few "price leader" XL trucks in white and grey. (Black doesn't sell well around here... summers are too hot!)

I noticed that there are now two Velocity Blue, one Ruby Red, and one Orange Fury truck on the lot, all out on the front row. It's nice to see some color on the lot, in a sea of white and grey. I'm guessing that this order will be the last of the '26 models (or maybe second to last?) until the '27s start arriving.

Nice to see that Ford is offering a new Green for the '27 models. The new Grey looks nice too, as does the Neptune Blue.

So far, mine is the only Orange Fury Maverick on the road around here, but I guess I'll have a companion soon enough... :)
