Maverick 77 - it seems your underbody heat shielding was not re attached properly looking at the various pic?
That could vibrate at high speed causing a drone?

I did not know that. Now I won't feel bad if I replace it with something cooler sounding. The exhaust system is not covered by any warranty. Not even the 3/36. It is considered a consumable like an oil filter.
What is your opinion of the noise in your 26 Lariat? Does it get loud in the rear?I just looked at my 2026 Lariat, i can confirm the unused hanger seems to be normal. That seems like a lot of rust, unless it's seen time on salted roads I suppose. The date at the bottom of my window sticker says 12 10 25, I didn't think to look at that on the truck itself when I was looking at the exhaust. This is with 600+ miles, with several trips up and down the very muddy road I live on.![]()
If a shield was not reattached properly, it definitely would vibrate. When I had the backend on the ramps today, I grabbed the felt and tin shielding at several places, but I did not feel anything was loose and did not notice any unused hold down spots, but these 66-year-old eyes could have missed something.Maverick 77 - it seems your underbody heat shielding was not re attached properly looking at the various pic?

It seems to mainly depend on the quality of the road surface. Recently paved roads are super quiet, where some rough sections of road were almost alarming. Sections where I didn't really notice noise in other vehicles, at that. My primary car before this though was a 6.4L Challenger, with the active exhaust defeated. Its tone was pretty dominant over most other sounds. I wouldn't say the Maverick is unacceptable overall, especially with the stereo going and A/C, but it does seem to amplify some road noise conditions. What is your opinion of the noise in your 26 Lariat? Your window sticker says 12 10 25 and mine says 12 11 25. The decal in the driver doorway shows 01/26. Quite the coincidence.
You might be onto something they probably just use that same pipe with and without the GPF and maybe the ones with the GPF have the hangar body mount.Maybe Mavericks with the heavy GPF will need additional support? Still need to add a new hanger connection to the unibody?
Those without the GPF but have the “phantom” hanger on the pipe only will be “collectible”![]()
Here is a picture taken underneath the Maverick from the driver side looking towards the rear of the truck. The unused hanger mount is circled in yellow. There is nothing above it on the chassis to attach it to. This would not be my sound problem, but there is a large gap between the hanger behind the muffler and all the way to the cat. You would think something has to give eventually with age.![]()
Do both of Your Mavericks have the GPF?I just looked at my 2026 Lariat, i can confirm the unused hanger seems to be normal. Maverick77, the OP, does not have a GPF. Like me he checked before purchase.Do both of Your Mavericks have the GPF?
I didn't even know what that was until right now, but after searching photos it appears I do not.Do both of Your Mavericks have the GPF?
Same here.My 2024 AWD Ecoboost from Mile one has always been super quiet in the cab at speeds up to 103 mph.
do you have a GPF on you Ecoboost?Weird! I guess that is one of the few changes between the 25 & 26 model years…
