2025 XL auto lock tailgate.

Hello, I picked up 2025 XL 2.0 on Monday from Walnut Creek Ford in Ca. I have completed several modifications and have many more to come. The conversion from manual lock tailgate to auto lock is different on the previous models. Ford has changed the camera and the wiring so the previous Ranger wiring harness no longer applies. The latching mechanism seems to be the same, anyone have information on a new work around. Thanks for your time.

My late '24 order got blocked by the camera recall, but I had hedged and the 2025 XL order is now scheduled for delivery. I am torn on the choice, but if Ford remains unable to clear the recall I want the truck, any truck asap.

Why wouldn't you simply use the correct Ford part numbers for a higher trim 2025 Maverick?

Was there a specific reason people ordered the Ranger part last time? Was it cheaper? It looks like the Ranger and Mav used the same part number at the time.

Once it gets warm I'll see if I can get a picture of mine. I've got a 25 XL.

Just add your own wiring and pins, most likely the harness under the spare still has power running to it on XL models

Here is the picture of the camera harness in the 2025 XL. It is definitely different than the previous years. Ive attached a picture of the previous years wiring harness for reference. Whil eyes, we could splich in wires, I wont do that. There has to be a compatible kit somewhere.
