You also can no longer get the Lariat hybrid with FWD only, same situation. If you want the Luxuries and safety tech, you have to buy the AWD.
Yeah it's stupid my opinion I mean I get it they want to sell you the all-wheel drive and make more profit on already overpriced vehicle now. If I was in the market for the lariat I would move up personally to a two-wheel drive ranger lariat. Still the problem with that is you don't get a power passenger seat that's manual adjust even in the lariat ranger.

Spotted a 2025 maverick in terrain color outside REI in Marina Del Rey CA a couple days ago. At first I didn’t like the refresh but I will say after seeing it in person at the LA auto show a couple months ago and seeing it in the wild a couple days ago, it’s definitely growing on me but I still think I like the first generation better. What do you guys think?

I bought a 22 Lariat AWD EB at 22 prices (3% below dealers invoice). I ordered a 25 Lariat AWD EB at 9% above my 22 purchase price ($3100 more) with same options. However the 25 has some nice upgrades: dual injection (port and direct) engine, pro trailer assist package (game changer imho), sync 4 with a larger screen, 360 degree camera and eruption green color. In my book, these upgrades are worth $3100. IMHO, Ford is not trying to "rip" people off. For some trim levels, price sent up due to some options becoming standard so I can understand the 25 Maverick is not as affordable as the MY22.
Your math here is confusing to me, and since I have been tracking XL, XLT and Lariat pricing since 2022, I'd love to see where I am wrong. I saw your similar post in another thread so I wanted to ask. Here is a fairly simple Lariat build comparison 2022 vs 2025 pricing? Can you show me an example that gets to 9%? Thank you.

I think if you bought a 2022 at 2022 prices you should be raising your glass in celebration that Ford let you rip them off before they figured out what the market would bear. I sure am.
Be happy about having 250 horses under the hood.

Why mess with a good thing? Ford could have made a few changes but NOT that ugly flap by headlights.
Possibly a more aggressive grill, option for a factory body lift. Maybe hood or side vents, option for just heated seats.

I don't understand the lack of physical climate controls? It appears to me that instead of knobs it a touch screen button as on mobile phones. Since it is always on, there is no diff. from what we see on phones? Pls correct me if I am wrong here?
I'm guessing what they aren't liking is if your on a nav screen for instance you might have to switch back to a comfort screen to adjust temps, then to a media screen to set a radio station, and then back to your nav screen again. A lot of taking your eyes and hands off of driving when you could have simply reached down and set a new temp with a knob or toggle.
As far as the main post about looks I went to a dealer in Dallas yesterday and saw both 24s and 25s together. Easy to tell the difference with the new L shaped headlights that are supposed to be improved Led's. I do like that they don't have the black plastic around the wheel wells that turns chaulky white after sun on it for a couple years. I wish they wouldn't use it anywhere and have all painted surfaces.
Now for the blue interior!🤢🤮🥶, my god what were they thinking?? Maybe on a blue, grey, white or black pickup it would be livable but on the Ruby Red I want and especially on their new special edition Green it looks horrendous!! Try and switch it out to black and it forces you into the Black Appearance pkg that many people don't want. I'm not a black wheel person and I hate to pay $1600 to take my nice wheels and bright emblems away!!
I'm a RV guy and want to flat tow so now this year to get a Lariat trim I am forced into an AWD which being a snowbird I have no use for. To load up an XLT with the ultimate pkg is a terrible value and you are still missing many options available on the Lariat. I guess the better resale of the AWD might pay off down the road but I would have been fine with a FWD. I understand they want us to stop every 6 hours and "exercise" the drivetrain when towing but I think most are just doing their normal 8-9 hour drives and then doing the exercise the following morning. This requires taking it out of tow mode, run it through different gears multiple times, and then putting it back into tow mode again. What a pain, especially when you might have a braking system on the drivers side floor area. So many other towable vehicles you just put them in TOW and GO!! The Maverick is a nice light tow vehicle but there is a limit to how much hassle people will go to use one as a Dingy Toad. At first Ford said the 25s weren't even going to be towable but I understand that was a mistake and has been changed.

If i was in the market for a lariat i'd probably go Honda Ridgeline RTL $42,980 MSRP.
Sticking with smallish unibody truck, 5k tow, AWD, honda reliability, proper $40k vehicle interior....pretty much a truck designed from the start for a $40k price point.

The original headlamps look logical. With balanced symmetry.

The new, the opposite. Looks like 1/4 of the headlamp is missing.
(So also says TFL Truck Reviewers)

I'm not big on the new front end. But I'm guessing it will age decently, maybe more so than the original design.

I also like that they brought the option to black out your roof. Something I had to do on my own
I know why it would be beneficial to have a white roof (heat reflection), but why would you want to have a black roof? Heat absorption? Or just aesthetics? Or something else?

New '25 front end looks like it is squinting at me.

Ford did not receive the memo that buyers want knobs and not more controls on screens
Glad I have my 2023 Maverick hybrid
