OK my bad! TYWhat he meant is that plugging into the trailer light connector disables BLIS
I tried putting a strip light on my 24 but ran into problems with the wiring harness for the tail gate being right in the middle of where the light strip would mount and there is not enough clearance to mount the strip above of below the wire loom. It did however have a plug in wiring set that allows you to plug into the factory plug and still be able to plug into the trailer lights with out doing any cutting or adapting. Hope this helps. Is it possible to install an led rear light strip and not use the trailer hitch connection, to avoid the blis situation?
Thanks...That's why I am asking here now. I asked a while back and no one seemed to know....just got a lot of guesses and entertainment for people with no clues or hobbies, so they just waste peoples time with nonsense.....I tried putting a strip light on my 24 but ran into problems with the wiring harness for the tail gate being right in the middle of where the light strip would mount and there is not enough clearance to mount the strip above of below the wire loom. Call and ask!! I would think any that are Not connected to the trailer wire connection point would Not affect blis. Naturally, not a best practice to assume anything nowadays so always verify with manufacturerLooked at these but no mention of blis compatibility...
Good suggestion from OleFordGuy ...If you watch the video on the Putco site, the installer plugs it into the taillight harness. If that's the case, it won't interfere with BLIS operation. Also the fact that it lights up white when you're in reverse : there's no reverse signal on a 4 pin trailer connector, so that confirms it's plugged into the taillights, NOT the trailer connectorLooked at these but no mention of blis compatibility...
I already messaged them..Call and ask!! I would think any that are Not connected to the trailer wire connection point would Not affect blis. Naturally, not a best practice to assume anything nowadays so always verify with manufacturer
Love it, but just went out and measured where each piece would go. May not be enough space to mount the right bar since the power cable to the tailgate is not directly in the middle. Looks like the left (center of the vehicle) end of the bar would hang over the hole for the cable by an inch or so. Not sure if that would be an issue.have you considered this:
