I’ll soon be turning my attention from my truck’s interior to the truck bed. I have several 60” LED strips that I’ll be using to augment the illumination in the bed. My question is can any LED strip be cut down to a shorter size? I don’t want to turn the corner from the side of the bed to the front. I have a DIBL and don’t expect I could get the 3M tape to hold over time.

I’m aware that some strips advertise they can be cut to size and have specific markings where the cuts can be made. Can I use one of those to indicate where cuts can be made on one with no such markings? I would intend to seal the cut end with some silicon to maintain its waterproof protection.

This usually varies per light strip. You're going to have to check exactly what you bought and see if it can be trimmed. Usually they can but rarely there is one that cant.

Personally, I just got a 15' roll and ran it from one side all the way around the bed.

Thanks. What I found is that most can be cut. Usually you’ll find two pairs of copper colored disks next to each other. Between them is where you want to cut.

I'm sure you have already done this. If an LED strip, roll or LED neon can be cut it will have little scissor symbols at the areas it can be cut. Those are the only places you can cut without potentially damaging the copper or LEDs inside.
