I have been reading the forum for over a year and was initially concerned with 12v battery drain and "Deep Sleep" but from my reading it appears that this issue may be isolated to 2022 model year trucks. I have experienced none of these issues in 4 months and 5k miles.

On a separate but related note I have been monitoring 12v system voltage since I got the truck in January and spent the first ~3 months at 15v exactly (with HVAC and radio off). I am now seeing 14.2v in the same situation. No concerns at this point, just change. Hell, it could just be related to charging rates and voltages at different temperatures.

At this point, I have no reason to be concerned. I am curious to hear others experiences though.

Nope i'm at 625 miles. So far it does seem like there are more threads on hybrid problems over ecoboost problems.

Mine charges at 14.3v to 14.7v when the key in in Run.

Without running for just 1 day; I'm in the upper 11's which concerns me.

Due to differences of opinion, site administrator has temporarily suspended my ability to make new posts, without defining the length of "temporary". I think I accidentally offended someone. Well I'm deeply sorry to anyone offended. I'll keep adding data here; when able.

Be aware that lead/acid batteries have a "reverse" temperature coefficient. e.g. The "fully charged" voltage is lower when hot than cold. Voltage regulators are supposed to follow this, but knowing the battery temperature is rarely part of the design. The moral of the story is that your battery is supposed to show a slightly lower voltage when the weather warms up. You can look up the numbers online to get a feel for just how much is normal.

I have a 2023 Maverick Lariat Hybrid and ever since I left my Maverick for a week while away on a trip I have experienced “Deep Sleep” mode that renders my Maverick totally without power, no start, no lights, nothing works. I called Ford Roadside assistance and had my Maverick towed to the dealer. The dealer replaced the battery and reprogrammed the PCM under warranty. 5 days later, after a weekend of no usage my Maverick again went into “Deep Sleep” mode. This time I quickly charged the new battery and drove for 20 minutes. I reported this situation to my local dealer who is researching the issue and any permanent fix from Ford.

I found a Ford Service Bulletin that may be related to this problem (see attached). I do not want to constantly be concerned with a dead battery on my new 2023 Maverick so I am hoping for a Ford resolution soon.

My XL Hybrid was built 8/22/23. So far, it hasn't had any battery issues in almost 6k miles. Since the truck took over 1 month from built to delivered, I knew the lead acid battery might be at lower than desired charge. So the first thing I did when I got it home was connect my NOCO battery tender to the jump/charge points (under the hood on the driver's side) and left it connected overnight.

Additionally, any time I won't be driving it for 3 or more days, I connect the battery tender. When not connected to the truck, I leave it connected to my riding mower, to maintain its battery health. It definitely helps - at least it has with the mower.

After about 2 weeks having the truck it would die over night. Dealer narrowed it down to an alarm that was installed by another dealer. They disconnected it and no problems since.

Hello, I experienced the same issue. Waited one year for truck order, got 2023 model in August last year, and initially, no issues. By October, I started to get Deep Sleep messages, and finally in December, after truck was not used for a week, the remote controller didn't work, had to use key to open door, and truck would not start. 12V battery was completely discharged, my first thought was that maybe I left some light on, but this was not a case. I charged battery, and was free of low battery messages for a while, then they started again. The App advice to drive for a while to charge the battery is useless, I drove 250 miles to have the low battery message back as soon I got off the truck. In January I brought the truck to the dealer to take care of two recalls 23P18 and 23C41. The first one PCM reprogramming was supposed to take care of the battery issue as well. The result was that now the Sleep Mode become permanent, disregarding if the battery was fully charged, or no. Last week I got back to the dealer. They called me to say, that the battery was damaged by a total discharge, and can't be fully charged any more. Since Ford Maverick batteries are unavailable in the Ford system, would I agree they get an aftermarket battery to replace? I agreed, battery and was replaced. I will see how long will last. My personal feeling is that something is draining battery at much higher rate than Ford expected. When I leave the truck and lock it, I can hear relays clicking under the hood and a sound of motor operating, is this a fan? Also, I make sure that the headlights are turned off, they are supposed to be auto-off, but I am taking every precaution to make sure all power is off. Is the truck's communication modem sucking all the juice? I don't know, but It is active 24/7 listening for communication.

My 2023 XLT Hybird was purchased August 2023 and had no battery issues during it first winter. Starting in January 2025, I started getting messages that the remote start had been disabled to save the battery. The dealer checked the battery, charged it and return after having it all day. My service receipt said to take it for a long ride or disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes and then charge the battery. The dealership advises that a fix is forthcoming from Ford this calendar quarter. However, I now have to charge the battery about once a week after getting the message the remote start has been disabled. I have not gotten a recall on the battery but have learned that the new 2025 Mavericks are now configured with AGM batteries. As my Maverick is still under warranty, I'm hoping for a AGM battery replacement from Ford. Retail for a new DieHard Group Size T4 AGM battery - $220.

My dealer replaced in 2023 with third party AGM, but this worked for about 3 months. There is continuous battery drain issue, an I suspect charging issue as well. It doesn't matter how many hours I drive, and in about 30 minutes of parking I get the disabled battery message.

A better question might be, "Has anyone had a full and normal lifetime from a motorcraft battery?"
