The difference between a vehicle that starts at $19,995 and the not-quite-bottom trim (required to get the 13.2" display) that costs $30,340.

A vehicle designed for 2022.....with no updates yet....or a vehicle who is just going through a mid cycle update with a new electrical architecture. for 2023, and a late 2023 as it wont be on sale until 2023.

Hmm...totally robbed...

So there you go. Now you see what will probably be at least on the Maverick Lariat for 2024. If you order now, it'll come just in time to replace your current Maverick.

$19,995 is long in the rearview mirror. You're looking at $22,195+ destination now. And as the price creeps ever higher, the compromises become less palatable.

I'm genuinely scratching my head about why Ford didn't raise Maverick prices more. The market will bear it. Corporations aren't altruistic. But Ford seems to be acting that way. It's a genuine puzzle. It seems like they could move all the Mavericks they want for another $2,000 each on the bottom line.

There's always a possible/theoretical Escape screen swap, but honestly, I'm waiting on the chinese to make a 12" or so aftermarket head unit, just like they already do for say, Honda Accords, that don't have a traditional DIN-style radio anymore either.

For example, here's what my friend put in his 2018 Accord, and I would put in the Maverick, as soon as they re-engineered the mounting locations.

If you could get the wider display for $1000 or $1500 would you?
Good question. I would as that amount stretched out over the length of the loan would be a small amount.

No doubt some enterprising Maverick modder will show us how to upgrade.
When?

I'd likely pay $500 to get a larger screen. I just looked on Crutchfield, and they don't have anything for a Maverick yet. I guess you gotta let the clientele build up first.

There is a recent video showing the disassembly of the head unit. It seems to be a plug and play.
