So I'm seriously thinking about getting a 2025 carbonized grey Mav. I own the first year 2022 Mav XLT with towing package. My dealer says for $45/bi-weekly more, he can get me the exact same build. He says 2 key fobs and keyless entry pad (I guess dealer install? And i thought only 1 key fob now? ). Thoughts? What will I miss from my original? What will I like? If anything... I'm on the fence as there's nothing wrong with my current Maverick (I was even considering purchasing it out right after my lease - I do lease btw). I am thinking, however, it might be nice to have another warranty, etc but, knock on wood, no issues this far. They do seem cheaply built so that's part of my thinking. Also do you think I should try to get him to close the gap between what i currently pay and his proposal? Thanks for any constructive thoughts/considerations you might have.
I'm waiting on upgrading my Maverick until I can get a PHEV or pure EV version.

I'm a "what's coming next" kind of guy. If I were leasing and had a year left on my lease, I'd be really inclined to wait and see what Santa was bringing to small truck lovers during the winter auto show season. Maybe coal, maybe something nicer.

Also, I'd be waiting to see what incentives might be rolling out this winter. The SAAR has been dropping, and incentives climbing.

To me, the correct comparison is between the buyout cost and the cost of a new lease. You'll be paying the dealership fees again and maybe sales tax on a new lease. I'd want to know exactly how the dealership arrived at their number, too, to make sure I was comparing accurately.

If you have a copy of the window sticker or can get a build sheet, have them tell you what they can and cannot get on a 2025, because I don't really think they can get you the "exact" same build.

If you buy out the lease, you'll still have payments but also equity over time, so factor that in as well. Once you have the real comparison of costs, ask yourself if any of the differences are worth what you'll have to spend to get them.

I wouldn't even entertain turning a lease in early. It's very costly to do so. Unfortunately with a lease when it's up will you be able to find a Maverick to your liking on a lot? That's the big question. Like was posted you should be in a good position in buying the vehicle after the lease. If it's resale value is high enough you maybe able to buy the lease and flip it for more. If not you own a vehicle that you know it's history and satisfied with it's performance. Financially I don't think turning a lease in early is in your best interest.

Just for the record that equates to 180 more per month. It also doesn't give information as to the length of the lease. Which it could be a longer term.

Also he cannot get the exact same build which you have already preluded to. Because your concern was warranty the add on keyless entry is from what I have read is battery operated. Once the battery died it's another fee to add another keypad. Of course I could be wrong on this detail, maybe someone that's more knowledgeable can interject. Definitely the heated windshield has been discontinued. There are though several improvements or differences on the 2025 because many have stated they wished Ford would have kept the knobs.

I'm hoping for a nicer interior in 2028.
I think you'll get that wish granted, as an option. probably lariat and higher, and then xl and xlt keep on with the recycled plastic. everything will look a bit different just because, but I do think Ford knows they can sell more 40K+ Mavericks if the interior is better.

uh, no. assuming what the OP wrote is literally true - meaning he could have heard the salesperson wrong, typed it wrong, or the salesperson could flat out be lying/bsing, $45 bi-weekly would likely be interpreted as $90 a month. literally is it 26*90 or $2340 per year, but unless a person has a high-risk loan they are generally paying once a month (12 payments), not bi-weekly (26 payments).

sales people like to throw out BS like this and then get you 'in the box' and talk about how 'only' another $20 a week gets you an extended service plan, etc. purchasing vehicles based on payments instead of looking closely at trade-in and purchase cost, interest rate and term length is a VERY bad idea so I do agree with the rest of what you said in this post.

you just had bi-weekly wrong. :)

They’re gonna sell plenty of $40k 2025 mavericks with the same interior.

I have never used the keypad on my 22 Maverick. I love the keyless entry with my key FOB!

$97.50/month more for how many additional years beyond the term of your current loan? Why not pay off your 22 and leave the monthly payment merry-go-round?

Just don't understand why they didn't put the same soft touch as the Bronco Sport.
