Running watts, start up would be much higher.Lol, my 12k btu window unit only used 930w full blast. 6k btu 460w, 5k btu 450w
First off awesome post and thank you. In the photo where is is captioned (positive bolt here) What size nut? Metric or standard? Thank you for the Photo with Kydex as a cover.I have been a all stop on my inverter install and had to cut the factory Red plastic cover . I had no Idea about the kydex. Thx. Ordered from amazonAwesome cover. But I'm curious about how you use it.
You are welcome. What size nut? Metric or standard?
Now that is cool. Do you have plans to wire that into the hybrid battery?Could be a good match for my 2023 Hybrid XLT equipped with a 400 watt Solar tonneau cover.

Unfortunately, the voltage output of 12/24 volts wouldn't be sufficient for charging the hybrid battery pack, which typically operates between 300-400 volts. Now that is cool. Do you have plans to wire that into the hybrid battery?
Curious as that seem like a cool way. Especially if they get a plug in hybrid.

Certainly, but the panels might be overkill for a single 12V battery, and you'd likely need an AGM charge controller. However, I'm not sure if attempting that would void the warranty, so it's something to consider carefully.Just wondering would if a 30 amp Watt PMW Charge controller wires between the panels and the Jumper connection under the hood. Keep the 12 volt Battery desulfated/Charged and eliminate the deep sleep issue. Just in theory it should work?
My mistake, I meant to type BTU, the AC is 5000 BTU.You're gonna want to double check those numbers. 5000 watts is over 40 amps at 120v. Your average household 120v outlet is 15 amps or sometimes 20.
Since you have to place negative on pwm onto body ground and not on battery post (so that trucks BMS can "see" the charge activity) and considering that there is some draw on 12v for computer, sensors, alarm, etc the pwm controller is NOT the only thing on the circuit???That is food for thought. I will call The Ford Service center and ask them about putting a battery maintainer on it. The PMW Charge controller I use shut off when the Battery is charged up and since it a 12 Volt Battery I dont see much of a issue. But Better safe than sorry. I will call them. I just think is the battery is the only thing in the circuit there should not be a issue.
Yeah a 2k inverter would work but you would have to connect it directly to the battery cable. IMO this sort of arrangement is good for when you need a lot of juice but not every day.My mistake, I meant to type BTU, the AC is 5000 BTU.
