The Mav hybrid gas engine is 162 hp. Total system output is 191 hp, so the battery can output 29 hp or 21,300 watts. A 1.1 kwh battery going from 90% to 10% (0.88 kwh discharged) would last for 2.5 minutes under full discharge. That is an appreciable amout of time, not just momentary.
All it's got to do is maintain at least 40mph climbing 3,500' in 11 miles in 100 degree temps,,,,

This is just not true. When it is in tow/haul mode it does not run on battery only but it definitely uses the battery and electric motor to generate torque especially off the line.
Off the line, yes.
But the programming shifts.
It takes much more pedal depress to evoke electric boost. The truck recharges sooner and more often and "saves" the battery for when you really need it.

They were probably referring to my OBDII port data. The battery is NOT heavily used in tow/haul mode. It is more rarely used. Counterintuitive to most.

This has been my point all along.

Floor your truck sometime.
I mean really floor it.

Unless you are at Bonneville I'll bet you can't hold it to the floor longer than 30 seconds. You'll run out of road.... or nerve to keep going.

I have property 4,725ft in North Carolina and it climbs 1,400 feet in less than 2 miles with the steepest grade 11% on gravel.
I've hauled 14,000lbs up a 1-mile ~11% grade with a 7.3L Powerstroke V8 turbo-diesel (~250HP/~500TQ) and it was a struggle to hit 40 MPH. That's a serious climb 😄

Who would buy a hybrid Maverick to tow a 4000 lb load up a mountain? You need a Ranger for that.
The amount of people that haul over rated limits is astonishing. And they are proud of it too. It's not an accomplishment. Insurance companies agree after they wreck. Even the ones on this forum that have been doing it for 40 years uphill in the snow both ways are susceptible to it, even if they don't like to admit. You can only go so slow and do so much before you are at fault regardless of what maneuvers you tried to make.

Please explain why this is your fourth Maverick.
Are you just totalling them and going out and buying new ones?
Do you get bored with the color and go buy a new flavor of the month?
Not that it matters I want a color change and the bigger info screen. As far as the other Mavericks I sold 2 and will sell the 3rd when the new one arrives.🙂

According to @The Real Maverick it stays between 35%-75% charge level.
Well.... I never said quite that.

Normal is 30% to 70%.

Brief exceptions to 72% have been seen.
And on a cold start, to reduce emissions, brief periods to as low as 26% has been seen.
