That's a lot of confidence in PayPal! If I had to guess, it would be something like dragging this out by extending the ship time as long as you will put up with it. And if that doesn't get them past the dispute period, making a tracking number to show they shipped something- maybe even sending some random box of stuff. I am 99% sure you are being scammed and now that Ford Authority covered this, it's feeding right into it.

I have until January 1, 2025 to report any issues with this transaction. I am not going to wait more than two months to request a refund.

I've seen this sort of thing time and again on other forums. At best its a hobbyist biting off more than they can chew and at worst you are dealing with real scammers. The longer you wait to get a refund, the less likely you are to get your money back.

No clue how you paid but make sure you know the time limitations for a chargeback. Credit cards can vary from 2 to 4 months. paypal can be up to 6 months. some services offer nothing but tell you to default back to your payment method through them.
