Not sure about new icons. Here are pics of mine in full and shared screen mode

Thanks Cactus, I know you have to update iPhone to 18 for new icons but they still don’t show but it could be my phone

Oh nice! You did a great job installing the USB connector with minimal space 👍🏻.

I'm looking into doing something similar. I need to find a good location to install a USB-C connector.

You're getting power from the fuse box, correct?
Found this and think it will fit in the space next to the support, give it a flush look and be an easy disconnect if I need to take the top apart.

Then I could mount the charger in the space formerly used by the cubby and that would stay in the truck.

Pretty interested in this upgrade. I don't have navigation on my 2022 w/ Lux Package. I don't think navigation was included until a couple years later.

The OEM Plus page says you get maps, but no navigation. Is that correct? I mostly use Android Auto, but for short trips where I am not getting that going, at least having a map on the screen would be nice.

Yes, you get maps, so you can see at a glance where you are at. You just can’t search/use Ford Nav.
I use CarPlay and Google Maps for nav, but same difference with Android Auto.
It connects wirelessly before I finish backing out of my driveway, so I still use it for quick trips.

Nice, thanks much. I've got a dongle for wireless Android Auto, same as the OP.

The one thing I haven't liked about it is that it keeps getting power long after the truck is off, so the dongle keeps trying to connect to my phone after I've got inside. I'll get notifications and crap on the phone.

Do you get anything like that on yours with the upgraded system? I'm hoping it disables the connection entirely until the truck is back on.

The connection is gone when the media center shuts off (open the door after turning off truck).
I was doing the wireless dongle for a while with the factory setup until my usb ports stopped working, so no CarPlay at all. That was a big factor in my upgrade. That and the random screen freezing and being non-responsive - right after the warranty expired.
This setup starts up quicker and the screen is so much more responsive. No regrets.

You will not get any sort of navigation or maps. You will only see a satellite image of the location you're at.

You will have to use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay if you want any type of navigation.

In the pics, the screen appears so much higher, maybe even obstructing the driver view? I really want it, but what I REALLY want is a wider screen at the same height eliminating the mostly useless to me cubby. The screen is just so damn ....square. I need to see one in person.

I had a Kia with navigation. It was terrible and never used it. What I would do though is keep map up on short city trips so I could just see streets around me. If I needed to get a few blocks east, I could see a way to do it.

That's an option, right? It's always showing you an overhead map of where you're at and the streets around you. You just can't say "get me there" and have it create a route.

Should note: I know 99% of the time Android Auto is gonna be on, more so with wireless just doing it automatically. But this is just that extra option to see overhead view.

I'm 5'6" and I can still see the hood just over the top edge of the screen when driving:

No. You will not see an overhead image or the streets of where you are driving. I will post a picture of what I'm talking about when I get a chance.

Oh, wow. Ok. Quite a bit less than I hoped for. Thanks for the picture.

If I see this kit drop back to the $1200 or so that others got in on, I'll bite still. But probably waiting otherwise.

The head unit is my favorite upgrade that I've done on the Maverick. It looks much better in person than it does in pictures. It fits and looks like OEM.

I get way more info than that in mine. I'll grab a pic in the morning
