Hi,
I just got a great deal on new tires for my '23 XLT Hybrid.
I'll be taking off my stock Continental 225/65R17 for Nokian 235/55R19.
Of course, this means new rims!
According to my research, the new rims should have these specs (aside from size and TMPS sensors) :
Bolt Pattern : 5x108
Hub...
I get the value of good tools but I have a quality friend : we like to do basic car maintenance together on our cars.
So, will the classic pump & purge technique work on the Hybrid Mav break lines?
Hi,
Here in Canada, we'll be switching from snow to summer tires in a couple of weeks.
I would like to use that opportunity to change the brake fluid.
Has anyone done it by themselves?
Any pits and falls one should be aware of?
Is the technique any different than pouring in new fluid while a...
Quick translation then.
The technician found an abnormally high resistance between Pin 4 of C135A and Pin 1 of C426 (whatever that means).
Then, he opened the right rear wheel harness and found corrosion about 40cm away from the ABS speed sensor.
Fixed that and all the warning lights...
Just picked up my Mav from the dealership. It is now working normally again.
All the work fell under the manufacturer's warranty.
Here's a picture of the dashboard and the mechanic's diagnosis.
So I was able to scan the car's systems with Forscan and got the following codes :
B1310:14-08
B130F:14-08
B1C55:14-08
C0512:00-AF
C003A:01-2F
C0051:67-6D
U0415:00-0A
U0415:00-6C
From what I can understand, a faulty speed sensor on the rear right wheel is the source of the multiple driving...
At some point in the near future, I hope we get a option to swap out the Lithium battery for a Sodium battery like the ones CATL just started to produce. Lithium is crap for Canadian weather.
Thanks for the insights.
I think I'll keep it in Sport mode during cold spells. Otherwise, the engine cools too quickly in city driving.
I'll be setting up Forscan over the weekend to get a clearer picture on those error codes.
I have a 2023 Hybrid XLT Lux.
Until last week, I didn't really had anything to complain about.
That is until the recent -25c overnights we've been having.
First, there was the solid amber engine warning light.
Apparently, this was the result of the cooling system misbehaving.
I drove slow for...
Just started doing my spring maintenance on my '23 XLT Hybrid.
The multimeter showed my battery was at 11.5V with engine shut down and 15.2V with engine running (and full accessories load).
AFAIK, the passive reading indicates the battery is failing. I've requested a replacement (under warranty)...
We're kinda going to a cold spell here in Canada and I don't have access to a heated garage. So I think I'll go over all the whole cooling lines come Spring. I can add more cups until then.
It's the one at the front.
The last time I added a cup was during summer and I filled it halfway between the Max and Min lines. Now, with temperatures going to -10C, I filled it to the Max line.
Your "purge" hypothesis sounds interesting. Would there be a way to validate it?
Since I took delivery (August 2023), twice have I had to top off the antifreeze tank. I'd say my Mav loses about a cup every six months. Not much but still, should I be alarmed?
I see a lot of threads on lifting, lowering, softening and other similar topics.
However entertaining they are, none really address what I'd like to know.
That is, is it possible to increase the hauling weight capacity?
According to the specs, the XLT Hybrid can carry up to 1.5K pounds...
