I would have paid closer attention to it if I were doing it again. Maybe they do need to be bent down or maybe the weight of my battery bent them down? I just don't recall it not sitting flat. The truck is out of state so not easily looked at anytime soon. Now that's a nice write up you gave us because it reduce some uncertainty. Couple questions though.
Thanks for letting us know that the tabs the battery sits on doesn't need to be bent down or cut off, something I wasn't looking forward to do.
Maybe I got it wrong about the metal tabs. Does the battery sit on tabs? Could you tells what the purpose of those tabs were?
So with those tabs in place, were you still able to close the battery compartment door without hitting into the positive and negative and connectors on top of the battery?
So summarize: bend the threshold trim, (the piece that someone would step over when entering the back seat). to reduce potential breaking something like a tab on the threshold piece.
Then there are two other pieces of trim to remove after bending the threshold in order to slip out the other trim piece.
When I see new forum content then previous read that seems reasonable it creates a spark in my thoughts.@scotty - I know you keep going around on this.
You can also forget any mods or difficulty by dropping in the same size battery.
As that other thread pointed out.
Group 140R or H4 AGM style.
More valuable info. Thank you. I don't have a charger, but have bought quite a few everstart walmart batteries. All have exceeded the warranty dates.I would have paid closer attention to it if I were doing it again. Maybe they do need to be bent down or maybe the weight of my battery bent them down? I just don't recall it not sitting flat. The truck is out of state so not easily looked at anytime soon.
I wrote up my steps in the Weize thread. Back then folks were sharing pics, but not sharing the steps. All the trim pieces pulled up easily except the one under the rear right door. I would try to just bend it out of the way and work around it. Take pics before you remove anything and pay attention the routing of the vent tube. It could be routed over or under another part and one way looked like it would rub to me. I just can't remember, but noted it in that other thread. And yes, all the panels fit back fine with nothing touching anything anything it shouldn't that I recall.
One other thing, if you try to top off the charge of the new AGM before install, don't do it at 2 amps. That's not enough. The Walmart H5 required at least 6 amps or it would just sit charging but never fully charging, even though the meter showed it was at or near 100%. My charger doesn't have a 6 amp setting, so I used 12 amps and it went green (fully charged) within seconds.
Good luck!
I do understand what your previous replies have indicated that the h4 agm is the way to go. I totally agree with you and wish I could go if needed, to a local store and buy it. Your information is valuable and is appreciated.@scotty - I know you keep going around on this.

Oh yeah I'd never buy online either.I do understand what your previous replies have indicated that the h4 agm is the way to go. I totally agree with you and wish I could go if needed, to a local store and buy it. Your information is valuable and is appreciated.
However I would have to order that battery on line unless i buy Die Hard at local parts store that other member says fits. But cost is $220 vs. Walmart H5 $180.
So when a forum member sets a spark within me that says he got h5 and it fit without making altercations to tabs, well you get the picture.
Buying on line creates issues. Like return a core battery, waiting for the battery while truck is unusable because the motor craft battery is dead. Then if the on line battery dies within warranty date then got to send on line return creating another down time.
I believe you can see some merit with what I have declared.
Agreed upon and thanks for support of the idea.Oh yeah I'd never buy online either.
I've got batteries scoped out at all the auto-parts places that are rated well, because I don't want to get trapped into a bad brand, if there are issues with warranty.
And core return, not sure how that even works online.
At least Walmart Everlast good brand.
Not needed yet - but seeing the same SOC 50-65% as others that seemed to eventually have issues, and I'm expecting to not make it thru winter.Agreed upon and thanks for support of the idea.
Did you have a need for another battery? where did you buy it locally?
Were you fortune enough to find a H4 battery agm for replacement?
Agreed.Oh yeah I'd never buy online either.

Why?I refuse to discuss my research into this problem.
This one has shown up in several prior threads and other MTC members have used it. It is a half inch taller but, it does barely fit. The problem is the high cost for this battery verses the alternatives. I was able to purchase my ACDelco LN1 AGM online with no issues for about $90 less than the Diehard EV available at the local auto store. The Diehard EV works but, it’s just too expensive when other options exist.I hate to keep flogging this horse but I’ve been having the deep sleep issue for a year and just had it at the dealer for routine maintenance and asked to have the issue looked into. They said the battery tested good yada yada and they charged it up.
Less than an hour after they dropped it off I got another battery saver message.
I came across a DieHardEV H4 AGM battery on Advance Auto Parts website that seems to be the same dimensions as the T4 Gold accept it is about a half inch taller.
Has anyone tried this one?
