I get tired of boomers who think the generations after them have the same opportunities as they did. My boomer father decided one day to walk up to a Ford factory, which were plentiful back then, fill out a one page application, and be set for the rest of his life. High school education, no student loan debt, no pre-screening interviews, or multiple interviews, or resume. Got to retire in his mid-50's. That opportunity for my generation was gone. That Ford factory is now an Amazon distribution center that pays people half the wages. I guess this is the bootstrap mentality boomers are famous for. I wish I could have just walked into a Ford factory and be set for life like my boomer father.
as compared to hundreds of millionaire teenagers who simply use their cell phones (invented by Boomer generation) to make videos and post on internet (thanks again Boomers) and become wildly rich based on clicks or being a so-called "influencer" or "UTuber". Like I said "takes for granted"....

The founders of Google, who own Youtube, are not baby boomers. The creators of Youtube were not baby boomers. I guess using this logic, boomers didn't create the car or manufacturing which was handed down to them. The number of social media influencers pales in comparison to the number of boomers who got jobs in manufacturing that do not exist today.

missed the underlying point: creators of mobile phones and internet and so much more made it possible for ALL social media platforms to exist in the 1st place. People making easy money with far less education, skills, ambition, work ethic, and life experience than your father had to get his Ford job was the irony.

In that case, all vehicles and manufacturing existed before baby boomers. Unions were formed before baby boomers. All baby boomers had to do was show up. But hey, a small percentage of people make a lot of money on social media as if there weren't get rich quick schemes before the internet.

I thought we determined there really wasn't an increase? At least, he shouldn't have been charged an increase? It seems like he jumped the gun.
1. Yes, there is an increase. Ford invoice's produced post December 26th will show the increased price.
2.There supposedly is a way that dealers can get a rebate from Ford on invoices where the proper order paperwork was signed prior to the increase (or actually Dec 29/30 if I remember the dealer letter properly).
3.Whether Chapman intends pass that rebate onto the buyer (either at the time of sale or from some other mechanism) is UNKNOWN.
4. Whether Chapman is able to get the rebate from FORD is UNKNOWN.

No one here knows what Chapman has communicated with the OP, no do we know the details and gotcha's of the rebate process that Ford has for price protection.

In my mind, that is the outstanding issue. Unfortunately, the OP seems to have moved on, and I guess we will have to wait for another Chapman customer to tell us.

EDIT: Instead, we have post after post either laughing at the OP, complaining about Boomers, complaining about non-Boomers, and so on.

The original poster is frustrated and it's understandable. I too got pissed and frustrated waiting on my truck to be delivered. I ended up buying a Nissan Frontier. Told the dealer, I was tired of waiting and they coudn't get any info. I was not outdone with the dealer, they did all they could. I was outdone with Ford. Come to find out my Maverick was being held because they discovered the gas tank issue. I was never told this and neither was the dealer. Finally after that info was released. My truck shows up at the dealer with a recall hold. So, I decided screw it and walked away. Truck has been on a recall hold for a month and a week at the dealership with no known date for the parts to fix it. The dealer knew I was upset, but not at them. Out of the blue yesterday, the dealer called and said, your parts still hasn't come in, but we do have a Hybrid Maverick that a guy just decided he doesn't want. You want to come drive it and see if you want to switch. Well low and behold that is exactly what I did. Now I got two trucks, but that is another story. Now I am glad all this happened because I ended up with a Hybrid and the MPG is crazy good! Some stories really do have happy endings.

I think the last post the OP said he would do nothing right now. Which is good, just wait it out and you may end up getting exactly what you expected. Ford has been a major screw up and the dealers are a frustrated as we are. Except for the one trying to screw over their customers. Hixson in Alexandria, LA is a good dealership. They sell at MSRP and don't try to screw you on dealer add ons.

I spoke with Ford (800-392-3673) and with Chapman (Ashlie Ryan) today specifically about the price increase. Original reason that I called Ford was to find out if the MSRP increase on the Mach E I have on order (for wife) would cost me more than the agree upon price at the time of order> bottom line is that 2 reps in the "Mach E department" at Ford customer service were unaware that any sort of price protection program even existed at Ford. The Ford reps were less than useless. When I asked to be passed on to the customer service quality survey that I agreed to take at the beginning of the call I was disconnected.

I then called Ashley Ryan at Chapman, she is the "business development team lead" and helped with my order. She was very patient, I sincerely believe that she was telling me the truth about what she knows. But the bottom line is that Chapman knows nothing about any price protection program from Ford. I'm kind of a perseverative guy and I spent 20 minutes speaking with her. Chapman knows nothing. I guess I could call Tom Borah at Chapman but Ashley is in the loop and if she knows nothing then I doubt he knows anything. She did tell me that maybe only one customer who had taken a delivery thus far was affected adversely by the price. Basically she said that Chapman is at the mercy of Ford. Again, the reps at Ford (both on the Maverick side and the Mach E side) know literally nothing about this.

I currently have a F350 platinum and a 150 2.7 and was going to buy these vehicles (Maverick and Mach E) to patronize a company that has treated me well (and did not take bailout funds). However, I am most disgusted by Ford's lack of support here. They may not have the parts to make cars but Ford has an ethical obligation to its customers to advise them of their own company policies.

The Sewell Lexus dealership in Dallas can get me a GX460 in 60 days at MSRP. So, pending my wife's consent, I'm going to cancel the Mach E order and get my deposit back. I'll probably wait for the Maverick and get it as I am in no hurry anyway and basically ordered it because it was cheap and to be just another toy. But it is a piss poor unethical business policy on the part of Ford to:
1) not be able to explain company policy to customers, and
2) raise the price after a price has been negotiated and agreed to.

By the way, Ashley (again, she was very nice and tried to help but apparently Ford is keeping dealerships in the dark) said Chapman had 125 Mavericks delivered in January of which 79 were hybrids.

Fuck Ford, by the way. Next big pickup isn't gonna have a blue oval on the front.

Wow, talk about victim mentality. I definitely don't envy my "boomer" father, I grew up with my own goals and ambitions. I did learn from my "boomer" father that the military was a great way to get a college education for free, glad that opportunity still exists despite your claims. Now, despite what you say, I'll retire in my 50's with a great pension and plenty of money saved thanks to a side business that I work hard at. But yeah, damn those "boomers".

You automatically assume I haven't done well for myself. I see though you didn't refute anything I actually said. You just e-flexed and called me a victim. I also never blamed boomers for anything so who is playing the victim again?

So first you say that there are no opportunities for your generation but now you say that you've done well for yourself? I mean, I'm happy for you but clearly it's not as bad out there as you're claiming........stop jumping on the bandwagon and blaming boomers for everything, it makes you seem whiney.

I never said there were none I said the same opportunities don't exist. Once again, I didn't blame boomers for anything. Perhaps you should do less projecting and whining.

Thanks for the update. So, it looks like the OP was correct in terms of being told that he would have to eat the price increase.

@fordvideoguy - I know this is a different dealership, but would you be so kind as to comment in terms of the PROCESS (if any) by which dealers (and as a result their customers) get price protected on the recent Maverick price increase (for orders submitted to Ford prior to the increase). Thanks.

The Maverick orders prior to December 27th will get automatic price protection. Invoices should stay the same for those orders showing dealers to protect the agreed upon price at time the order was submitted.
