Ah yes, the BITOG bible
There are really knowledgeable people on BITOG. Been there 17 years and you quickly figure out who knows their stuff.

I won't argue that, I know that I have learned a few things on there over the years. I have also seen a lot of drivel over there too though.

I'm saving the 20 year old arched Filtermag for the Mav as well as a drain bolt mag.

Any idea which filtermag fits properly? Is it the SS/MB/MC-300? It looks like the same as the medium but I can't confirm anywhere :/

Yes

Also noted that the FRAM is made in the USA. I like both FRAM and Ford filters though.... both have served us well.
Draining the oil when the color is as shown.... no problem here for that choice. ✔🇺🇸
Happy motoring !
Think i saw on BITOG that Fram filters are or will be soon made in Brazil.

Not going to get into the which filter or brand of oil to use for my Maverick and will change my oil at 5k intervals. Probably let the dealer do it cause I dont wan to crawl under the truck vice sitting and having a cup of coffee in the waiting area.
If the truck gives me problems after the warranty expires I will just go buy something else.:D

Not sure about the Mav fit. It's too big for tiny lawnmower sized Honda filters but I use it anyway, it doesn't fall off.
On an unrelated note, Fram filters are junk unless using the Fram XG which is a good filter. Not my opinion. I have cut them open to see for myself and the Youtube and Google filter studies are correct. I won't use any filter that has the paper end caps glued (that is opinion).

I can also confirm, with only 1,000 miles on the oil, that @FORD BOSS ME was 100% correct about the strong fuel smell present in the oil on these things. I was also amazed at how dirty this oil was, after only 1,000 miles... Whatever oil is put in at the factory also looks like alien blood..

I have 3960 miles on my Maverick and decided to change the oil. The oil was the same color as the one in this picture. I didn't really notice smell any gas with the oil.

I'm wondering if Ford added some type of additive to the oil to help break in the engine.

The only green oil i have seen was some Differential oil 80w-90 or something like that. But that was some time ago.

I used to use Fram until I had seen the internal construction. Fram is nothing but paper with no metal end caps, ect…… I have found Napa Gold or Wix tow of the best filters on the market. note, I have not seen other filters personally such as Amsoil or even the Motorcraft. I would say at this time choices are limited, I would have to take the Motorcraft, basically anything other than Fram. without a doubt, Fram filter Is total junk. See the video below and judge for yourself.

Fram is a scam. Everyone is a closet mechanic. Trust what Ford says will work especially during the warranty period. Buy a Motorcraft filter and move on with your life and call it a day. It's pretty simple.
