Our record temperature is

Our record temperature here all time was 118F. Have only reached 110F this year. Supposed to be 108F this Thursday.
Outside temp was around 105 when Maverick measured 113. Not sure where the air temp sensor is located - but it’s hotter there!

Don’t neglect the 12 month guys versus the 6 month guys. We matter too! Also the gals who intuitively lean towards a 9 month interval?

Or guys like me who think time is an illusion and base their oil change intervals on motion…quality rpm’s & rotations of the earth 🌍

Yes for Hybrids. In fact, the Atkinson Cycle Engine found in Hybrids is especially susceptible to oil dilution. More so than the EB.
Nope.
But thanks for playing the make confusion game.

Proper care for all Internal Combustion Engines is not a game, Mavster. It is serious!

ICE drivetrains are going extinct fast enough without folks hastening their demise.

I’m asking please. Please take care of your ICE. Or buy a Tesla and don’t contribute to the their torture.

I'll post my 15k used oil analysis soon.
Pulled a sample Sunday.

Proof will be in the pudding.
There's supposed to be pudding, right?

😜

Time for data.
Data is more important than feelings. Or hunches. Or experience with older engines.
This runs the range from the terrible gentle low mileage driving to over 10K shorter time.
I think those with claims of what is worst may be surprised. Or you already knew.
Many of these have additional reports from other posters.

Can you drive in a manner that fools the OLM and ruins the oil sooner?
I'm sure if tried hard enough. But several of the stated scenarios don't seem to be the way.
I'd rather try to get high MPG.

Great time reading these posts! This probably belongs under another topic, but let me explore the logic. The manual suggests 10,000 mile oil changes under normal driving conditions. The manual also suggests 150,000 mile transmission fluid changes and 200,000 mile coolant changes!

Lets see how the HF55 eCVT (or the 8F35 8 speed in the 2.0) does with that!?!? I've seen posts here and from mechanics that suggest between 35K to 50K for the transmission fluid. Also crazy to think that coolant will go 200k before changing 😬!?

The manual says to be following the OLM that may cause miles/time to be much shorter.

Every 6 months you are supposed to check the strength of the coolant.
I'm betting way before 200K the strength won't be in the stated range and you'll be replacing it.
Same as checking the Brake Fluid and level. If there is a high moisture problem, that check handles it.

….
Or 12 months whichever comes first…
Going to take me 3 years to get to 10,000 miles:) I’ll do 6 oil changes by 10,000 because I’m driving under severe conditions where Ford recommends 6mo intervals.

I’ll also change my coolant after six or so brutal desert summers regardless of mileage.

Great post, thanks!

I go with a standard of an oils change every 5,000 miles or 1 year, whichever comes first.

Ford probably assumes that 90% of the Mavericks on the road now will never come close to still being roadworthy by the time they reach 200,000 miles. They probably also assume only 60% or so might be able to make it to 150,000 miles.

Antidotal stories aside.
Hasn't oil performance and future longevity been tested by folks using Blackstone and other testing labs??
As I recall all have come back good for further use. 🤷‍♂️
I'm sure if even one came back bad, we would have read about it, over and over...... 😉
Yep just takes a quick search to find mine. I used to be an oil is cheap guy. But started testing my oil to back up my assumption. Both I was proven wrong.
I went to 0 percent oil after an almost perfect balance of my driving. Even at 0 percent oil life left my reports came back fine with a recommendation to go 2k miles more.
only way to really know is to test.
