I'd suggest an actual UOA and not judging an oil by appearance, which tells you nothing.

Get it analyzed and follow that guidance rather than antiquated advice from internet people who don't acknowledge that cars and oils today are quite different than they were 30-50 years ago.

I've had the oil analyzed on several of my cars before and have always been told that the OCI could be increased. I had an analysis done on a Toyota where the 0W-20 full synthetic had been in use for 10,000 miles and it was fine. And I had several done on a Mercedes that ran 13,000 mile OCI and every time they advised running it to 15,000.

Or, you can waste your money. It's your truck and your wallet.

I understand the idea of wanting to do the first oil change early. I've done it myself on other new vehicles. I am pretty sure the oil itself is fine though. If the concern is the amount of metal particles circulating in the oil from the wear-in process, why not just change the filter early? Is there an issue with a good filter not doing its job?

(Waiting on a build date for my 2.0 Lariat, AWD, 4K tow, FX4, Lux in Cactus Gray)

The Fram Ultra Filters down to 20microns at 99% efficiency and 15microns at 93% efficiency and 10microns at 74% efficiency

It's a terrific filter and filters better than the OEM one but the oem is the only other I'd use ATM
Not one of those Thai filters you reviewed? They looked pretty good.

Do you know why the oil is green? Does ford use a special formulation for new engines?

Also, are you ex military and don't you ever sleep?

Fuel smell or oil dilution is a common side effect of a direct injection engine. Why I wouldn't go over 5k changes with DI. You can expect it to be normal for all of the eco engines.
I never changed the oil in our Escape EB until the computer told me. Never had an issue.

I used to use Fram until I had seen the internal construction. Fram is nothing but paper with no metal end caps, ect…… I have found Napa Gold or Wix tow of the best filters on the market. note, I have not seen other filters personally such as Amsoil or even the Motorcraft. I would say at this time choices are limited, I would have to take the Motorcraft, basically anything other than Fram. without a doubt, Fram filter Is total junk. See the video below and judge for yourself.

If you ever get the chance to talk to somebody who lived in Europe, ask them what the factory recommended oil changes are…you will be surprised…..

This is where the lack of education comes from and confirmation bias

You need to spend some more time on my YouTube and see me deconstruct these things and stop holding on to old outdated crap info

The ultra is not the orange can and there is a massive major difference

On top of that you show a video where the guy doesn't even deconstruct the filter I mentioned

What is going on with people and trying to support a theory or bias and not even doing the work to actually do so

The ultra filter is better than any filter he had on the table

Here is my video on it showing the CORRECT filter and more in tune with what's going on

Please do better

I like the fact Fram has produced a better filter, but I’m still in the opinion to use the Wix or Napa gold. the few extra dollars in cost help me protect my investment.

thank you for sharing the link

@FORD BOSS ME Where are you finding this data on the Fram beta ratios? I have found some data, but not what you are stating. Just trying to better my data.

I'll be using the Fram XG also.

Oil filter and drain bolt magnets hold those sub 10 micron particles against the filter wall and drain bolt tip which means they aren't passing through the filter. I'm saving the 20 year old arched Filtermag for the Mav as well as a drain bolt mag. These pics are from the weekend for my '21 Rogue.

Cummins demonstrated that sub 10 micron particles do cause wear.

The Motorcraft is the only filter with the bypass where Ford wants it. On the base with a silicon ADBV
