@fordvideoguy anticipated 80 allocations for March. That was based off of the sales of 17 Mavericks which turned into 7. That means the March number could be 90 instead of 80.Well, Tim @fordvideoguy did say that they won't have their March allocations figured out until the end of the week. So this is pretty much expected.
Monthly allocations are based off of sales, current inventory projected sales and more. When @fordvideoguy asks the Zone Manager for supplemental allocations (on top of their original request) the 80 could go to 90 based on the previous month's shortfall.
In February Long McArthur scheduled all 30 Mavs the first week and it's the reason they're the number one seller in their region.
The key in each week's scheduling is the Regional Scheduler can change a priority 2 order to a 1. If the commodities for a priority 2 aren't on hand the vehicle is passed over while 1's get a scheduling date.
My question to @fordvideoguy is: "Is it true higher volume dealerships will deliver your order faster".
Would a person want to be number 5 of 10 at a small dealership or 265 of 531 (individual retail orders at LM)?
@fordvideoguy offered the perfect analogy during last Saturday's member only Saturday lot walk video. Member ship costs the equivalent of one cup of Starbucks coffee per month by the way. His logic goes as follows: if two parties show up at a crowded restaurant and the first party needs four seats (a hybrid XL with sliding rear window and trailer receiver) and the second party needs eight seats ( Lariat Lux with CP260). With the current state of constraints, which party is likely to be seated first?
Has a dealer done their due diligence on June and July orders in priority 2 purgatory with regards to confirmed, unscheduled and clean requirements? How many outstanding orders did they modify so the Monday Scheduling Toolbox Report's commodity issues doesn't affect their orders? This prevents surprises on the Tuesday AM Scheduling Preview report. Ditto if there were any changes on the Wednesday morning report. Finally, do dealers respond to the Regional Schedule's Wednesday afternoon report in case orders specifications are not what the customer wanted (kind of a dealer level QA of their orders)?
My question is how informed, involved and dedicated are dealerships when it comes to the procedures in place to expedite retail orders from WBDO to driveway? Do you have a "Better Idea" than Ford?
