Everyone seems to be forgetting that it adds the 6.5" cluster screen to an XLT, that alone should be an $800 option! Then they give you different wheels, tires, tow hooks, metal skid plates, larger radiator and cooling fan?! I don't care if I never go off-road, the FX4 package is still worth it...
You have to go down and select 2.0 ecoboost before the option pops up as one of the packages. For some reason on the first page where you select trim level and it has the slider for engine option, it always defaults back to hybrid once you enter the page where you can add options.
I don’t...
Man, that’s crazy. I can’t imagine paying 3k more for a vehicle than what others are, and not even getting to decide what the build specs are… keeping the “stealership” model running strong for sure.
6.5” screen on XLT, black wheels, skid plates, tow hooks, larger radiator and larger cooling fan for $800?! Great deal in my opinion. I wish they left the drive modes alone… but oh well 🤷‍♂️
I bet the 6.5” screen is going to be worth more than $800 in resale value alone.
They likely won't cancel your order, they'll just refund you your deposit (unless non-refundable) and then just sell it as a stock unit. No harm on you and I'm sure the dealer won't mind.
Glad you found something you like, I hope its good to you.
Sucks that the crappy way we sell vehicles here...
I will definitely be checking out Forscan when I get my Mav.. I heard rumors about being able to add/replace drive modes, hopefully I can put Eco and Sport on my FX4. Haven't looked into it much yet tho.
Fort Wayne Indiana here. Not sure how I missed this thread...
I got a build week 2 Thursday's ago of 11/1, hoping get my Maverick before the end of the year.
There's no point in arguing with this guy lol he just makes claims and cries about a **$120 option while providing no evidence or rationale.. just "luxury package says tire so I want tire!"
The original order guide said that Lux package came with full size spare for both drivetrain...
I ordered the FX4 becasue it came with the 6.5" screen, skid plates, and tow hooks, like many others.
Thanks for your input tho...
Dude you literally haven't read any posts in this thread explaining why were confused have you?
Both of the most recent Order Guides say "Rotary Gear Shift Dial Includes Select Drive Modes: Normal, Sport, Mud/Rut, Sand and Tow/Haul"
This is the only document I know of that has been revised by Ford and re-released so that is where the confusion is coming from.
They actually say in the Owners manual to not use the off-road modes on road.... unfortunately :(
"Using mud/ruts mode on dry, hard
surfaces could produce some vibration,
driveline bind up, and potential excessive
tire and vehicle wear"
"Using sand mode on dry, hard
surfaces could produce some...
Thank you. This must be from the Original Order Guide because I have everything else saved to my computer and never found anything that said that explicitly.
Provide me examples then. Because I never saw what you're talking about. Nothing I ever read said that Ecoboost gets a full size spare with luxury package.
The wording is slightly misleading, I would not call it a "bait and switch" just because it confused you and a few others. You'll notice that if you select an ecoboost with Luxury package the Full Size Spare is not preselected, you have to add it as an individual option.
Dammit Ford. Can you just put out one list of drive modes and stick with it lol
I don't know which mode I'd rather loose, but I at least want to know which one it is.
