Update! New APIM purchased.

2021 manufacturing date with Nav this time. I guess I’ll cross my fingers and update you guys sometime this weekend with if it fixed my audio issue and how navigation worked out.

Cross your fingers for me!

You shouldn't have any problems with that one. It's the same one I bought.

Splash screen issue fixed! I was able to change a code in the APIM to make the logo bigger!

Now I see the climate commands as small...I search and search but I can't find the code APIM to change the size :crying:

Crossing my fingers about the APIM I bought!

I will say I had this same issue with my software and ended up removing the section in Forscan completely because I couldn’t resize it properly.

Looks like a nice and straightforward solution! Looks like about 1in x 1/8in aluminum flat...did you bend/profile it in a vise?
Yep exactly! bought a little strip of aluminum from lowes for 5$.

I installed rivnuts into the aluminum for those Torx bolts, makes it way easier. Held the screen in and just eye-balled the bends and threw it in the vice with some heat and made the bends, really took no time and is very solid.

Keep us posted! I have the same audio skip with the stock Sync 3 system and I'm curious if it's APIM related or something else. If the skip happens just as frequently with all 3 of your APIMs I'm led to believe we got a bad batch of ACMs or something like that.

I’ll definitely update here once I’ve got the new one installed! Says it’ll be here in a few days.

With my Sync3 I had an initial audio skip when playing USB or Bluetooth audio probably like thirty seconds in to each song? But it would typically only do it once a track.

With this there’s a slight pop or crackle a few times a song, but only when playing USB or Bluetooth audio. AM/FM radio and SiriusXM play perfectly.

When swapping in my old Sync3 the original issue was there, but not the Sync4 issue I was facing now. I think it’s software based which is a pain because it’s a real hassle to update the software once you do this swap. It’s cheaper for me to just get a different APIM that’s going to have an earlier software version installed.

Anyways, I’ll update once it’s all hooked up! Cross your fingers for me!

I honestly hope yall get this all figured out and maybe we can have a forscan cheat sheet for this conversion. At the same time. I really wonder if just taking a 25's apim and screen will make this smoother.

Well I mean I have pretty much everything figured out and working the way I want it. Was really not that bad at all and has been an absolute game changer for this truck. On a road trip right now and loving the new screen.

Today is the day! Will be installing a different APIM today. I’ll update later this evening in hopes it solves my audio bugs.

Cross your fingers for me.

Do we have any idea what lines control wireless app projection? I decided to copy yours as it’s a great starting point, but by doing so Wireless App Projection greyed itself out, blocking me out of wireless CarPlay. I could reset and go one by one, but if any body has any idea where I could start then that would save a lot of time. Good news is the audio issues are completely gone!

Just an update for everyone. Everything seemed perfect but suddenly CarPlay started acting up. Bluetooth audio works perfect now, but when wired into CarPlay and tapping the screen to switch apps (say to maps) or when an app like maps does a background refresh audio stutters and skips pretty drastically.

I tried resetting the system and my phone as well as trying both USB ports with two different cables and the same thing happened.

I must either be deeply unlucky or my truck just does not want to play nice with this swap.

Not sure what to do at this point other than revert to Sync 3 and move on.
