It's winter in Michigan and Steve Trucklet needs a good wash, but I'm concerned about damage to the added exterior parts (i.e.stone deflector and mudguards) so I thought I'd ask: which car wash brand gets your vote?

I have splash guards, hood deflector, cab spoiler, and tailgate spoiler and they have all held firm in the typical car washes. We have a duck themed wash called Quick Quack!

Sounds just ducky! My issue with touchless washes is how much is left behind...I usually go to the coin wash bays and hand wash it, but they're getting hard to find as property values are on the rise around here...

We’ve had good luck with Flying Ace (part of Express Wash Concepts: https://www.expresswashconcepts.com/). Even though it’s a contact wash, we haven’t noticed any damage to the paint on any of the three vehicles we’ve run through it. It’s also been fine with the mud flaps and window deflectors on both of our trucks. That said, we do use it sparingly, as it is a contact wash.

I use a local touch less place. Undercarriage wash and blow dryer with one up from the cheapest. 4 levels I believe. All give a token for vacuum. The Murphy station in the Walmart parking lot gives a dollar discount if you buy gas. I’ve got all the detailing stuff to do it myself since I own bikes. You know foam cannons, clay bars, wax 15 kinds of soap, my wife’s special shop vac for the cars, oh and electric leaf blower, the works. Everything here has pretty good wax on it and when it’s cold the touch less does a good job.
My vote touch less if you can’t hand wash.

Some years ago, there was a mentally challenged fellow here in town that rode a three wheel bike and sold Amway. I got to buying the car wash from him. That was a pretty decent car wash prouct. He passed away and I don't know if Amway is still in business, so I don't have a source any longer. I have been using cheap Ajax dish soap, that works very well. I keep the vehicles waxed that eases dirt removal. I am getting long in the tooth so my chamise days are over.

Hopefully I can provide a somewhat local opinion…I keep a monthly Everwash subscription over the winter to Sunrise car washes(I do the touchless wash and you can freeze/unfreeze subscription at any time). They have several locations in Macomb and St Clair counties. Basically I pay $30 a month for a decent wash(underbody wash included) at any of their locations, and can wash once a day if I please. Last winter and the beginnings of this winter, I have had no ill effects to my OEM bug deflector or mudflaps. Keep in mind, I only use this as a quick wash to keep most of the salt off in-between storms...I like doing a much more thorough wash if weather cooperates.

I've used this for all my cars for years. Use with a pressure washer to foam. Works well out of a bucket as well.
