Ford... please listen

I get it, low cost truck.. cool story bros ($31k sticker) but...

* Save the lane departure gimmick, vibrating steering wheel bs and give us standard sat radio and Sync

* Two words....FOG LIGHTS

I am 99.9% thrilled with this truck, honestly. Just a few odd features or lack of, that stop this thing from being a 10/10 for me.

Yea the fog lights thing, I really do not get why Ford did not offer them. Anything that does not have the FX4 package should have been given the option of having fog lights, even if it was a $200-$400 option.

I would have to guess that the aftermarket will solve this issue. Maybe Ford was counting on this also.

Lane departure vibration is kind of neat on a big wide truck like the f-150, but on a slender Mav, co-pilot isn't helpful to me.

I specifically look for vehicles that don't blink, beep, vibrate, talk, chime, double-honk, etc. That sh*t annoys me to no end. Hate all of it....absolutely all of it.

OEM's......please stop the madness...

I personally like these safety features, even on my compact SUV. I find them helpful and useful. But I think it would be nice to be able to disable them for those drivers who do not want them.

Amen to that, and more.

Immensely prefer to drive my vehicle, not have my vehicle drive me.

Fog lights are becoming a non-issue or should I say non-essential. I’ve never used them in any car I’ve owned. Seems to actually make things worse than better IMO.

The original idea behind fog lights was that a driver used them instead of his headlights when it was foggy. The lights were mounted low and the beam stayed low to the ground, where there was less fog.
Since the introduction of 'always-on' headlights in Canada headlights can't be turned off while the fog lights left on, which defeats the purpose of having fog lights.
Now-a-days, fog lights are just for show (and to bother drivers in oncoming traffic.
I've owned a number of vehicles over the years that came with fog lights and I probably haven't used them more than a dozen times. The last vehicle I owned, a 2015 BMW X1, had fog lights and I never turned them on once in the three years I owned it.
I'm glad my Maverick doesn't have them.

Im hoping that there will be an aftermarket insert for those that want to add Fog Lights. When @Mr.Boom took his front bumper off, there is a decent mounting bracket already there. Adding Fog lights should be easy, but making it look good with some sort of aftermarket insert is needed.

i have a truck with fog lights for 8 yrs and i have absolutely no idea what they do. or why i should care.

i'n guessing theyre to turn on in fog? because that will, i dont know, provide some more light i cant notice?

just weird the things people get hung up on. like how every phone review mainly talks about whether the phone has wireless charging, or every maverick review mainly talks about that it doesnt have push button start.

You turn them on when there is fog... Fog lights throw light lower to the grown where there is less fog, it also does not throw light up causing reflected light from the fog. Same reason you don't turn on highbeams when its foggy.
