I want to clarify, I do not have a vehicle yet, I am currently researching my options for subwoofer. I have a 10w3v3 and jx500 amp from my current car that id transplant over, id get a subwoofer box for the under rear seat, and it has enough airspace, so thats fine. From what I understand, the B&O has a subwoofer in rear, so that means it has signal there, can I just grab that signal and push it into my amp? Now I am aware, stock system has factory roll off, on my previous car (mustang ecoboost ford) I used Forscan to disable the factory EQ, and make it flat line out. and that fixed everything/improved audio and made the speakers great at same time. I also used the stock subwoofer in that car, and took its signal there.

Will that work perfectly in this application? seems easy enough, run power from battery, to amp, grab signal from stock sub wires, ground it, disabled EQ to flat. = done with no hiccups? I assume, will have to grab remote turn on from fuse, any recommendations on which to tap? I used signal sensing on mustang, but I had to go to 12v turn on due to constant false turn ons from misc things mustang would do and causing a pop. ie unlocking, or anything.

Yes, as you said that would work just be sure to use four scan set the EQ to flat.

As long as your amp accepts high level inputs, sure. Otherwise, the search feature in this forum will reflect that this is not the first time that someone has asked about this.

I did exactly as you suggest. I used the B&O subwoofer wires to drive the high level inputs of he amp I bought. I let the amp auto detect to turn on the amp and that seems to work fine for the amp I am using. I did go into Forscan and set it to flat but someone in an older thread mentioned that there is reason to not do this for B&O but I do not remember the reason and it sounds fine to me. If anyone knows why do tell.

Hijacking the thread a little, but does changing the forscan settings make the stock b&o better at all?

thanks! I will definitely try it before playing with for scan. I got to order the dongle again as I sold my previous one when I sold my mustang, didnt need it anymore.

I cannot comment on maverick, but in the mustang premium (equivalent to the B&O) or it may of even been B&O I cant remember, when you changed that setting, everything became so much cleaner, clearer, more sound, more bass, everything. bass roll off was gone too.

its like removing a restrictor, but im sure its there to help extend the life of the speakers in long term, (because people like to max out the speakers) and such. if you dont go maxing them out you should be fine. never had an issue for 3 years of mine.

you can always change it back too. theres no traces of you switching them back and fourth unless you go and change a ton of settings and dont know what the original values were, I always save a copy of the original as is file just incase I mistype something or something.]

I do remember reading though, saying flatten EQ really only affects cars with amplifiers factory, non amp'd cars are basically running full signal already.

edit

There was one thing that had to be done though if you enabled Flat EQ on mustang, the CHIMES etc became RIDICULUOSLY loud. like insane, but I just used for scan and disabled the nanny seatbelt chimes and such anyway.

it's not easy to build a box for a Maverick with sufficient volume for a 10w3v3. probably need to be fiberglass and extend from driver's side tub into the middle void area. sound decisions box is 0.6ft3 but subtracting the sub displacement it's still undersized.

Does setting the EQ to flat remove the cross over frequencies to things like the tweeters etc?
I believe so yes, but the tweeters and other speakers have inline crossovers as far as I’m aware.

So do you think the proline box is too small? Airspace says there’s enough space, I can put some poly fill in there maybe to make up for it if slightly undersized- it also does fill the void between the 2 spaces

If it's B&O amp, I believe the amp acts as the active crossover. I might be mistaken, but I did not add the crossovers that came with my replacement speakers and the various speakers are not all receiving full range.. I still have the stock speakers in a box somewhere I could look at.

When you disable eq in hesdunit, speakers go full range. Atleast in mustang they did. Not sure the how, I did find google results on f150 and some Maverick post saying eq flat sounded better across board and removed the bass rolloff

which wouldn’t happen if the amp still handled crossover down line. Unless the hesdunit somehow controls the amp, or acm is the amp settings? I think it’s in acm settings
