Had a good laugh when this came in. Thought it was finally a fix, but just a service promo.

So they replaced the TCU ?
Few days ago I came across some on eBay and they have a nice sticker on them (scrap is dropped). Could many of us have dropped TCUs ?

Anyways they weren't sure so just started unplugging stuff. Parasitic drain is hard to find when it is intermittent which they are working on a fix for.
Yes, TCU was replaced. They unplugged modules one at a time, did these test until no drain was found. This was the advice from the Ford. Others have mentioned the "sitting" overnight is something not a normal part of the bms reset. Anyways, hope it helps.

So far, my truck has performed exactly how I expect it to. I'm even hesitant to get any of the recalls done at this point. I do get the notification from the Pass App when it's not driven for a while, and the interior lights fail to light, but that's it. It's always on a battery tender. Perhaps I'm one on the lucky ones.

You aren't. Think about it, you have it on a battery tender whenever you park at home, and you still get deep sleep notices? That's one of the worst cases here. 🤨

I put mine on a battery maintainer maybe once a month during the winter months and once or twice the rest of the year. Then again I drive 5-6 days a week, unless on vacation.

So, I took a 1 hour drive yesterday, 12 volt battery started the trip at 46% SOC and ended at 47% SOC! It always shows the 12 v battery at 15.1 volts, which should mean it is charging?! I have a pdf of the service manual, maybe I can find a theory of operation on the BMS…….I have had no issues thus far, but the 12 SOC is a growing concern to me……. Bill P

Does the DCLVA & 12v battery PID s mean the battery should be charging at 256.7 watts?! P=IxE……….. BILL P

I hear you! But I'd just say that none of the FordPass features are that important (to me). Honestly, the only thing I ever used the application for was seeing "battery saver mode" notifications. And seeing the notification never helped me stop the battery from dying when it did.

I'd argue that even if you do find the features helpful (you remote start your truck or unlock via your phone), you may still want to weigh-up if it's worth the risk. Some data from quite a few people that turning off all that stuff has helped.

Having said that, I totally agree that the best thing to do is install an AGM. Next best is trickle until the software fix comes out.
While waiting for the fix which possibly might include the agm battery just place on a 4+ amp maintainer and leave it on for several days being sure to let the sulphate routine time to complete. A small amperage maintainer may take much longer and if only used at night will have to spend time recharging battery to 100% before the sulfation procedure starts. Once the battery reaches about 80% soc the float charge will drop to about 2 amp and take the most time. Without interruptions the sulfate procedure can take several days if battery is heavily sulfated.

The overnight sitting with all things possible turned off, truck locked undisturbed because even opening door puts 20 amp draw on battery for a short time and messes up the bms readings. (It does more than just checking voltage). May need 8 hours to complete without being disturbed.
As far as the reference to "discard if dropped" brings back memories of TV I had which would have the active HDMI port drop dead every so often. When all 4 had quit the circuit board had to be removed and baked in the oven to soften the solder to close the circuit. (Someone saved too much solder in making the board. Did this because a good friend who repaired computers would fix about 1/3 by baking a board)!

HOW do you get that screen with that info?

It starts every time I press the button. That’s what it supposed to do. If it fails to start, then it’s an issue.
I see what you’re saying though

Yeah, mine has never not started either, still on the factory battery (truck was built in May 2022), so I think it's in better shape than some here for sure. I think the people who have that issue don't drive much, or drive very short distances, or just got flawed batteries. It's still a problem, because if it's in deep sleep/battery saver mode all the time that means the battery is low and won't last as long as it should. If there is no fix, we could be going through batteries like no tomorrow, which at the end of the day costs the end user time and money that they shouldn't have to spend.

I agree completely. I guess we can just hope that when problems are discovered, Ford will resolve, albeit in a more timely fashion

I hope Ford upped its quality for these new AGM batteries! :fingerscrossed:
