I put heavy seat covers on the front seats and they insulate so well that the heated seats do almost nothing.
I do not want someone to turn on the seats and just leave them on, so I thought the best thing is to go in the
menu on the dashboard and turn them off. Is this possible?

Just the buttons, no other controls. I guess you could pull the fuse, but I don't know if they are the only thing on that fuse. Maybe Forscan, but I don't know anything about that.

I have found that they will eventually time out and turn off. It seems like the max duration is on the order of “a couple of hours.”

I know that doesn’t exactly do what you are asking, but maybe that timeout can be changed in Forscan.

Remote-starting the truck using FordPass also shuts off my seats the way my truck is set up…

Go in and disable them so they won't come on during remote start (should be under vehicle settings on the little screen) and then leave them off and they should not come unless you specifically push the button. Unless I am missing something

Plug-in connection under the seat? Seats designed to be installed , bolted in. So has to be a plug in to facilitate seat bolt in.
Good call. Sometimes the answer is staring us right in the face...

There may be multiple connections because of the seatbelt occupancy sensors and power seat adjustment etc. I would assume the seat heating has the thickest-gauge wire, but I would confirm with a wiring diagram or parts schematic.

Surely. Could be just one connection, covers all situation. Without benefit of wiring diagram, Im just taking a guess here. Also, my toolbox has snip, or wire cutting pliers. LoL

Yes I saw the lol.
I feel sorry for the future owner of some of these Mavericks, who've had their wires cut or irreversible modifications done.

I think your choices in that menu are 'auto' or 'last'. auto will definitely turn them on if it's cold enough, but if a person selects last and the seat heaters were off, they should stay off.

With todays trucks you may see a constant notice on your screen telling you it's unplugged.

Not likely if there is a dedicated plug for just seat heating power. Truck probably doesn't care about that.

In any case, it looks like there is a dedicated 20A fuse: #47 under the hood. See manual, pages 295-299.
